Jenny Phillips
The above self portrait was taken with ProCamera and edited with myFilm, Backgroundz, Juxtaposer, and Picture Show.I may be considered somewhat less than an amateur by some when it comes to photography and image manipulation. However, my passion for it is strong, and my curiosity for learning is quite intense. I have owned some sort of point and shoot camera since the late 1990's, and have had a camera enabled cellphone since the mid 2000's. I love photography, it's in my blood; both of my parents were avid photographers.
My photographic style ranges from images that are candid, boring, and without context, to images taken with what I hope to be an artful approach in mind. Very rare is the moment when I just snap a shot and upload it. Instead I prefer to try and coax emotion or a story out of the image. There is so much to be said with just a single image, and being able to present that message to other viewers is quite an amazing feeling.
Ever since I received my iPhone Christmas 2009, iPhoneography has taken up a large part of my life. I love being able to shoot on demand, my camera always available. Being able to edit and post process those images on the go is very liberating. I'm a full time worker, wife, and mother to a young daughter, so for me there just isn't time anymore to sit at the computer and futz around until I get results I like. iPhoneography fits into my busy lifestyle, but by no means does that mean that it's a compromise. The more extensive the applications for iPhoneography become, the higher quality work I think I'm able to create.
Much like Glyn, when I'm not working, tweeting or snapping, you can find me relaxing with my family.
