"Create a Timeless Masterpiece! Dreamy color tone combined with artistic edges and vintage backgrounds", well that's what the developer would have us believe, but just what is TimelessPhoto like?
The App
Launch the app and bypass the splash screen, and you are presented with the app home screen, which does not have the nicest of of UI's.
Across the top you have a crop tool and a reset icon. Across the bottom are options to open/take a photo, select a edge, make adjustments to the color strength, dreamy and vibrancy. Then you have the options to add a textured background or color tone, share via email or Facebook, and finally the option to save to camera roll or save/load one of your presets.
The app itself is easy to use, simply open/take a photo, select and position any one of the 30 artistic edges, tweak the colour and/or add one of the 25 vintage backgrounds, and then save or share, and that's it. It does have the ability to resize the original photo, but this is very limited and does not work well on all photos. In addition to resizing the original photo, you can drag the edges around and position where you prefer, but this leaves the original photo off centre, as it is the edge you are moving and not the photo.
Whilst the app itself has 30 artistic edges and 25 vintage backgrounds, it does not have any predefined effects, which is a shame, as it would have been nice if the developer had included those used to create the sample effects shown on the AppStore. Despite this you can save your own presets as you create them, to use again later.
What do I think of TimelessPhoto?
The app is capable of producing some nice looking effects, with the edges and backgrounds working well together, however as usual there is a but, and you guessed it, the dreaded resolution raises it head here.
Version 1.0 of this app only saved my test photo at 467 x 700 pixels, however whilst writing this review the developer updated the app to version 1.01 stating that 1.01 included a "fix that was causing images to not render at full resolution". Despite this update my test photo only saved at 578 x 867 pixels, which is hardly full-res.

Overall this is a nice app, but not one to write home about, so I would rate it at just 2 stars.

I actually like this app. It is the first app I know of that allows me to create images similar to alternative processes like cyanotype and platinum printing which the brush strokes can be seen. It was worth the 1.99.
