CAMERAtan+ is the latest iPhoneography (iPadography?) app for the iPad by developer Morokoshiman. It comes with what has become the standard set of filters (cross process, bleech bypass etc) and vignettes found in most of the higher end picture processing apps found on the iPhone and iPad. What's missing here is variety. The iPad version of CAMERAtan+ pails in comparison to it's iPhone counterpart. While the iPhone version comes with thirty two filters, the iPad version only has eight. And, there are no frames to wrap around your images. This feature is quickly becoming a standard and it is a feature that more and more iPhoneographers come to expect with photo apps from the app store. Granted, the iPad version does have some features that set it apart such as vignetting level and light leak intensity, I can't help but think that this version of the app falls short of many of the other photo apps for the iPad. The other thing that is missing here are picture frames, a near standard feature found in such apps as Pictureshow and Photogene.

The large iPad screen has really opened the door to not only more compelling user interfaces, it also lessons the amount of sections the user must page/scroll through, and in this area CAMERAtan+ does not disappoint.
I'm willing to give the developer the benefit of the doubt. CAMERAtan for the iPhone started out light with just a few filters and small file size export. Morokashi really came through on his promises to add more filters and support native file size export and it has become an enjoyable app to use.
So, if you want to support a solid developer and make use of the high quality filters that are available, then by all means buy this app. If a large selection of filters and features is what drives your purchasing habits, than I would wait for an update.
