Coming soon: IncrediBooth, a Photo Booth in your Pocket

From the developers that brought you Hipstamatic and SwankoLab, comes IncrediBooth, which is exclusive to the iPhone 4

Step up, sit down, and get ready to cram as many of your friends together as possible. The photo booth has returned, and it's incredible. No coins needed, no hunting down old dirty dive bars, and no longer limited to a single backdrop! Be the life of any party and bring your IncrediBooth with you.

Take photo strips with three different lens/film combos

  • Grab onto the slider dial and turn it to you desired setting. Choose from a Helga Lens with Supergrain B&W film, the classic John S lens with SuperContrast film, or a custom Kaimal lens with Infrared film.

Bring happiness to any event, party, or lonely evening

  • Grab a group of friends and squeeze together, or just shoot yourself to show off how awesome you are. Set the scene, line yourself up with the built-in mirror, and fire away!

Share with Facebook or email

  • Send the whole strip or just one or two of your favorite poses directly to Facebook or email. Plus IncrediBooth fully supports the new multi-tasking in iPhone 4, so you can leave the app and do something else while your upload is progressing.

Crap, so this is only an iPhone 4 app and cannot be used on any other model?

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMikkers

Apple is starting to jerk us around more & more relative to what is or is not included on / with their products! They're getting greedy & a bit too full of themselves. And I'm getting tired of it.

Loyal multi-Apple products owner since 1998!!

@mikkers I am feeling a bit left out. I love the other 2 apps (Swanko & Hipsta) I want this one too. Boo! I guess I'll be boarding the iPhone 4 train next month...if all the complaints stop. I'm getting the feeling that 4 is not what it's cracked up to be. I hope iPhone 4 exclusivity doesn't become the norm. Maybe I'll try to track down a 3GS.

Gara, I think you should be complaining about the Hipstamatic and SwankoLab people only coming out with a iPhone 4-only app, and not Apple in this case.

At least it's only 99 cents...this app seems pretty underwhelming.

glyn, point taken. Guess I lumped everything together in my post w/out realizing it. I'll blame it on earliness of morning when posted & newly broken foot. I would never "dessert" Apple anyway.

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered Commentergara

DUH!! I meant Evan... please excuse ....I'm sorry.

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered Commentergara

I wish the Hipsta guys were more focused on the bugs in Hisptamatic and Swanko than coming out with this new app.

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMiki

@Mikkers: The post references using the front facing camera, which is why I imagine it's going to be an iPhone 4 only app.

@Miki: I concur.

@Jennyland,

Doh! That's what I'm afraid of. With the iPhone 4 hardware so different from the other models I think the owners of 3Gs and earlier are going to be left out as developers scramble onto the iPhone 4 bandwagon. I would have hoped that there would just be an option on whether or not you wanted to use the front facing camera, but apparently it's all or nothing!

it's still irritating to see that developers are abandoning old apps to create news one amid the iPhone 4 hype.

Not for nothing, I am wondering when they are coming out with more "chemicals" for Swankolab.

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCliff

@Cliff: Considering the Swankolab Owner's Manual has been "coming soon" for the past few months, I'm not sure when (or IF) the developers will release any updates. Pretty discouraging if they're already in full steam iPhone 4 mode...

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJennyland

Totally agree with Miki.

Still don't see this in the app store yet and I really rather they update Hipstamatic to work with os4 =/ especially on the new iPhone

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

As for all the *4* Chatter, I'm just going to update my 3GS, afterall I just got it in Dec.!!
I love the aesthetics of my 3's photos and the apps I use. I also don't care for the idea of the iPhone possibly becoming another "digital" format. I meanaid Apple going to create a *5* or *6*??
I already have an expensive digital for "perfect" photos, but it's been living in a drawer since I got the First Gen. iPhone and shot those first images *without* apps - just fell in love.

I suppose I have a purist aesthetic when it comes to iPhone imagery.

June 24, 2010 | Unregistered Commentergara

Shouldn't they release a new add-on pack for Hipsta or Swanko instead of churning out new apps that are iPhone4-only?!

I start to see the marketing tricks of Synthetic Corp: Release a new app with a few paid add-on packs, lure people with new add-on-packs being released in the future but never deliver these. Instead release a completely new app.

June 25, 2010 | Unregistered Commentersascha

I get really scared when people mention that they have a "purist aesthetic." When people start comparing how one way is better than another, you get into an elitist argument. Just like when film "purists" started bashing digital, I feel that it is very detrimental to iPhoneography for people to begin comparing the iPhone 4 to a hack DSLR or that the megapixels are "too good" and therefore the person using the lens is some sort of hipster wannabe.

We should try to be more inclusive of each other's choices and realize that the camera doesn't matter, it's the person behind the lens.

June 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMiki

Well Miki the camera does matter. I can't do my real estate job with my iPhone. On the other hand I cant do half the fun stuff so quickly and instantly with my D300 that i can with the iPhone. Every camera has a use. It is just a matter of trying to figure out what the use is best suited for.

In terms of the iPhone 4 if I will update. I just got mine in December. I really don't need a front facing camera. If they do continue to churn out these iPhone 4 only apps I will be disappointed in the app community.
