Camera+: update on the update

Glyn Evans Following the Camera+ 1.2 update yesterday, many of you commented on the missing volume button feature that the sneak peek video indicated was coming. Today the developer tap tap tap posted a new video (see below) showing the new features found in version 1.2, and explains why the volume button feature is missing, saying...
"This is actually a feature that we had in the first version of Camera+ that we submitted to Apple. The very version that some of you may remember got rejected. You probably realize now that that was the feature that actually got the app rejected.
We’re still using the feature in our test builds of the app and we love it. We call it VolumeSnap. But we’re not able to include this great feature in the app because Apple doesn’t allow us to change the functionality of the volume buttons, unfortunately."
More information about this and the apps other features can be found on the tap tap tap blog.

I personally don't want this feature in any iphone app as I want to keep the volume functionality when I am in and out of my apps. Pushing a software button has worked so far, so don't mess with it!
Meh. You can add this feature to any camera app with a jailbroken phone.
@jordandev: LOL, are you for reals? *headdesk* That's why you can do it on a JAILBROKEN phone. Since "Apple doesn’t allow us to change the functionality of the volume buttons", the only way around that issue is to jailbreak, an method not sanctioned by Apple. I'm sure there are a LOT of things you can do on a jailbroken iPhone that can't be done otherwise. However, for an app that is being sold through iTunes, there are certain expectations the developers must keep in mind. Namely that their apps may never make it to the app store if they don't play nice by Apple's rules.
It's misleading to the customer. This feature should be taken out of their promotional video. What if all apps advertised features that weren't actually in the app you purchased.
