This app requires iOS 4 on the iPhone to work. Thanks to blog reader Michelle for pointing this out.

Damn.. clever stuff
I've used another pay app like the one. It was too clunky for me to use on a regular basis. I ended up using a dropbox and pixelpipe solution to ge photos off of my iPhone for postprocessing. Same could be done for other iPhones or iPad. And you can do it on 3G.
Also, with that other wifi transfer, I would lose all EXIF info in the transfer. I'm not sure if it is the same case here.
If the gps data is stripped out of the EXIF then it is a no go! I'll test....
Tested..no EXIF data
Check the info section (you can do so by pressing "i" in the upper right corner): it says that if you download individual files, EXIF data will be lost, but if you download in a compressed .zip, all data will be preserved. The first thing you will see on your computer screen when you connect to the application are options to download individually or as a .zip file.
fyi: requires iOS4, which not all of us iPhone users (cough, 3G here, cough) updated to. :) Might be a useful fact to include.
Nice one. Thank you!
I absolutely love the application called Cinq for the iPad/iPhone. Allows me to have all my pictures from my home computer accessible to me at all times. Automatically files away my iPhone pictures to my desktop and I do nothing. It just works. No uploads, no file transfers, no cables...nothing. Also a very cool interface for sharing pics to FB, Twitter or email. If you don't have an iPad it also works on the iPhone and iTouch. Here is a review from iPad Daily http://ow.ly/2g2kI .
I downloaded in a Zip, but they had no EXIF
Any one else have opinions on Cinq?
Hi, I am the dev, thanks for the post!
Darren, are you sure? I just tested it, and for me what is inside the .zip file is the exact (byte by byte) copy of the file that I get when I download with an USB cable. And it contains the EXIF data. Does the original file contain the EXIF data you need? Is the full EXIF record missing, or just a specific field? (like the coordinates)
