New iPad Photo App: Meta Editor

Description from the AppStore: Exif and IPTC editor for pictures on your iPad. Tag them, set title, credits and description, and export through share, export or mail.

A must have for professional photographers taking their iPad with them to quickly edit and send pictures.

Meta Editor allows you to import an image from your camera roll or photo library, edit its location with a map, or edit these IPTC fields:

  • ByLine
  • Credits
  • Headline
  • Description
  • Keywords

You can then export them out using email, the shared folder in iTunes or FTP.

Quickly find your images using search on all fields in the list. Check them using the in-app viewer.

AppStore Link: Meta Editor - Price: £5.59/$9.99/€7.79

Editors comments: Whilst a bit pricy, if you are looking for an iPad app that will let you edit your photos meta data, then this may be just what you've been looking for.

The app does have a major bug that got missed during the beta testing, which the developer has highlighted and fixed in the next update, which should be soon.

"Bug in 1.0: There is an embarrassing bug that has been through the beta test, in which you cannot write meta on a file which already has meta, thus returning an empty file. It doesn't destroy your image of course. An update has been sent for review. Sorry for that issue."

I am happy to see you made this app. I search for a long time for this. Is it possible for you to make a version for iPhone too. Being on the road an iPhone is still more ambulant then an iPad to send a photo 'on the spot'.
Many thanks, keep up the good work,

Gary

For photo organization, you can't go wrong with Sort Shots. It brings the power of tagging to your photo collection; once you get everything set up you'll be able to find exactly what you're looking for in just a couple of taps. I highly recommend this app to anyone trying to get their photos organized. It is comparatively much more economical.
