App update: Auto Adjust

image1975507623.jpgAuto Adjust is a lightweight utility for automatically bringing your dull, dark, or washed out photos to life, and has just been updated to version 3.0.

So what's new?

Auto Adjust 3.0 was rebuilt from scratch to be better optimized for speed and performance on the iPhone 4, 3Gs, and iPad. iPhone 3G is supported but not recommended for images larger than 1600x1200. iPhone 4, 3Gs, and iPad users can work with images of ANY size. 3MP, 5MP, and beyond!

So is now iOS 4 and iPhone 4 Optimization, and has a NEW Color Correction features! Now you can control the color of your pictures to recreate what you remember or create surreal effects.

I was unable to test this app out on my iPhone, as it requires iOS 4, but as it is a universal app I was able to test it out on my iPad, which I am current blogging from whilst on my holiday (vacation), and I have to say I am impressed with the new colour correction features. As my sample photo above shows, the top photo is the original uncorrected image, whilst the photo under it has been lightened and then had the slight magenta cast removed using the apps new colour correction features.

Overall this is a good app, and a worthy contender to king of photo correction apps, Perfectly Clear.

Please note: I'm sorry if the image is fuzzy, but I am having some problems posting images from my iPad. There is nothing wrong with the iPad, but a bug in the app I am using to post whilst away.

Really happy with the update and love the slider controls for saturation and contrast. The exposure algorithm seems to be more subtle than the previous version.

It feels like a better update. I didn't even have it on my iPhone anymore because the old version didn't give me anything I needed. Now it's easy and usable and will stay in the phone.
