Writers Comments: Synthetic Corp. has made yet another charming program that keeps in step with their history of retro style camera apps. In this case, it's based on a classic photo booth. This is also Synthetic Corp.'s first app that supports only the iPhone 4, due to its use of the front facing camera.

The use of the application is pretty simple. Hold up the camera, select which film setting you want, click the big red button, and wait for the application to start taking pictures.

There's three different settings to choose from: a black and white option and two color options. It took me a little while, however, to figure out how to turn the nob. It turns out that clicking on the nob either on the left or right side will turn the nob in that direction. It's a little difficult to figure out at first, and you run the risk of clicking the camera button in the middle.

After you take your photographs, the film processes and "slides out" into a "bin" for your review. You can then click on the strip, zoom into specific pictures on the strip, and can then save, e-mail or share the pictures on Facebook.

As one might expect, there's some pixalation issues due to the front facing camera being relatively weak. It definitely wasn't designed to be as robust as the 5 megapixel back facing camera on the iPhone 4. These are definitely not going to be print quality pictures. That being said, it does an excellent job at creating a very fun and very retro style set of pictures. It's definitely meant to be a very quick, silly and fun app to use with your friends.

I would love to see some more picture filters, and I'd also like to see some sort of preview in regards to the filters so that you can see the kind of results that you're going to get.

Other then that, this is definitely a four star app! I'd definitely recommend getting it if you like to take silly pictures with your friends.

Looks like a great app, I would get it if I had the new iPhone.
For once it looks like the interface makes sense.
(I have Hipstamatic and while I like the results, the cute GUI gets old really fast.)

Is there a good photobooth app that works well with 3gs?
I have seen a few, but they all have bad reviews or look like poor quality.
