Following the success of the EYE'EM Awards and the exhibition in Berlin, the team from EYE'EM have just announced their next exhibition will be held at the renowned OPENHOUSE GALLERY in New York City, from the 27th to the 29th of September, and on show will be the top submissions from the new EYE'EM website.
Below is the full press release from the EYE'EM blog.
"We are very proud to take you with us on a journey to one of the most amazing cities of the world. New York is not only the home of many outstanding photographers shaping the mobile photography movement over the past years, but also an important place in the history of EYE’EM. We invite you to be part of this experience and take your chance to exhibit your photos on a truly global stage. The new eyeem.com will serve as the base to find great photographs to exhibit to the New York audience. All your submissions for the previous award, as well as any photos uploaded as of the launch will automatically qualify for the competition. Submission is free. If you haven’t submitted any images yet, take out your phone and start now!
The exhibition will be featuring prints of the Top EYE’EM submissions. Professional image processing and high quality materials such as alloy & acryl guarantee a high quality production of the exhibited photos.Additionally, digital screens will display single photos, slideshows, and relevant photo streams. Part of the gallery will be turned into a lounge where visitors can relax and watch the live digital slideshows. Interactive slideshows and various installations make for a very dynamic and entertaining experience!
The EYE’EM exhibition links the online and offline worlds through real-time interaction between the location, its visitors and website users. The online platform will also interact live with the gallery, allowing your photos to appear in New York, just an instant after you take them. How cool is that?
You choose who will be exhibited!
One of the most important drivers of the mobile photography movement is the community itself. We believe that everyone who is actually taking mobile photographs has a voice to be listened to. At EYE’EM everyone who contributes photographs to the competition is also able to like, comment and share the photos of others. Through this interaction, the community’s favorite photographs are identified. Those photos will headline this EYE’EM Exhibition.
Guest Judges
As you know it from our previous exhibition in Berlin, we invited an international panel of creatives, photographers, designers, journalists and academics to select their favorite mobile photographs among your submissions. That selection will also be featured in the exhibition!
Hello Local Heroes!
EYE’EM will be selecting a number of mobile photographers from New York City who had an enormous impact on the scene throughout the last years and deserve a special spotlight. Those photographers will be featured at the exhibition as well."
