Being a fan of the Normandy part of France I enjoyed the settings/subjects of the pictures.

But I'm getting a little tired of seeing over-used "toy camera" effects. It eventually makes all the pictures, even from different photographers, look the same.

Just take a good picture. Don't try to post-process it to imbue it with some kind of artistic/stylistic vision that just makes it look like everyone else's pictures.

Hello Paul

Firstly thank you for giving your opinion, I also like Normandy, it is very beautiful lights.

Regarding my photos made in Britain, I have no sense of over-used effects, this is subjective of course, I'm just tied to using a single application with a film rendering, which seems appropriate for what I wanted to raise and maintain a certain unity throughout the book pictures.

Now say that the pictures end up like this by dint of using too many effects, again, it remains about the appreciation of everyone, maybe my photos look like other, c It is possible, I did not get to see all photos posted unfortunately, cons, what I have been fortunate to discover at the photographesiphone, I am pleasantly surprised instead to see such creativity and talent, but again this is just my opinion.

In any case, it is that everyone expresses their opinion, since it will make progress "the photographic writing.

Hopefully my English is understandable.

Good day to you.

Your English is great Stéphane. I hope you didn't take my comment as a slant against your work. I like color, so it's a shame (to me) to "ruin" such wonderful subjects with what I think is an overused effect. I hope you saved the originals! :-)

No problem, when I show my work, I accept the opinions of each other, so I can understand your point of view, the color can indeed be very appropriate for this type of subject, but at this time there, I felt more taken the view in black and white that matched the direction I had set for this topic.

Thank you anyway for taking the time to look at the pictures and give your opinion.

Good evening.

@Paul. Whilst I would agree that Hipstamatic with its green looking images is a generally overused look, I think that Stéphane's choice of black and white film has actually really worked well and should encourage others to look past the obvious Hipstamatic film choices.

stephane,,,, thanks for the summer voyage!!! you have a gift of story telling that perhaps is as important to include in your work as being able to see and capture images. I really liked your choice of black and white as it kept the feeling for the images consistently intimate... and oh yeah, the music, the pacing and the words made for a complete experience.
