New iPhone Video App: Video Edit

Video Edit is the quickest way to edit video on the iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS.

Description from the AppStore: We believe the iPhone is the most convenient way to shoot videos of your family, your friends, your podcast, a concert, or spontaneous event. But a single video clip is often unpolished: it's jerky in some areas, too long, or just isn't interesting.

The power of Video Edit is its simplicity to stitch together a series of your BEST video moments and render them for sharing with the people that matter most. We've spent over 10-months optimizing Video Edit's rendering speed so you can create quick, professional videos in minutes.

Video Edit is great for: Blogging, Vacations, Concerts, Skate Parks, Family Events, Documentaries, Video Portfolios, Baby's First Steps, Sporting Activities, Citizen Journalism, Behind the Scenes Footage.

Our belief in developing Video Edit is that not everyone wants to spend hours editing, creating titles, transitions, and fades on their iPhone. In many cases you just want to shoot, trim, and stitch together a handful of entertaining clips to share online. Video Edit strips away the extraneous and helps you edit your clips quickly using the fastest rendering speed possible on the iPhone.

Editors comments: This app was announced some months ago, and way before Apple announced the iPhone 4 and iMovie for the iPhone. Video Edit however does look like a nice simple video editor, and if that's all your after, then this may be the app for you.  My only problem with this app, whilst reasonable priced, looks too limiting for most, which is a real shame as the rendering looks real quick.  Now whilst I know that by adding titles and transitions etc, will increase the rendering time, I still think this is something the app needs, even if only basic titles and transitions.

If anyone does try this app, then please let us know what you think.

Warning! Resizes video down to 640x360 on iPhone 4. Also crashes after adding each video (thankfully saves project so you can pick up back where you left off). Also, my 4th clip got out of sync (after third clip froze for a few frames at end of the shot). Might want to wait for v2 at least on iPhone 4

I had the same crash problem. However, a simple iPhone restart fixed everything. Haven't had a problem since. Even with the Initial bumps, this app is a nice solid, video editor that is super quick and easy to use - especially when compared to iMovie. No frills...but that's kind of what makes it easy (& fun) to use.
