OVERVIEW
- The Hipstamatic 170 will be available on iTunes Friday, Sept. 17
- The printing service will be available in North America 9/17.
- Printing Service available in Europe on Oct 1 & rest of the world Nov 1.

- Tumblr sharing of Prints and Stacks
- Ability to completely disable the LED flash on iPhone 4 (in Settings app)
- New 'Medium' print quality mode (applies to iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 only)

Above: New Mission HipstaPak. On the left Bettie XL Lens: She always had a colorful vocabulary, now she’s got herself a lens that suffers from the same leaky seal. Be careful with this one, you never know when the streaks will happen. On the right Ina’s 1935 Film: Dressed all in white, this line of Ina’s film is clean, beautiful, and lets the photograph speak for itself.
BUG FIXES

- Clear button is back in the Recent Prints view (with an option to clear all or just prints that aren't in any stacks)

I wish these folks would finally get around to updating Swankolab for iOS4 and the iPhone 4 display. A whole bunch of bugs were introduced with iOS4. I used Swankolab much more often than I ever used Hipstamatic.
I am part of the Hipsta Beta Team and I can just say, this update is outstanding.
If you're interested in seeing a sample of what the new lens/film looks like, check out my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/corruptedlens/
Also, wait till you all see what the packaging looks like for the ordered prints, it's AMAZING. Plus, the quality is great. I'm so excited for people too finally see this version, it's rad.
@James --- I can confirm that they are currently working on Swankolab as we speak now that Hipsta 170 is complete. Hopefully I'll see the first beta for the new version soon. There was a lot going on there with the perpetration of HipstaMart and 170.
Hi all - is the new Hipstapack an in app purchase?
Normall the hipstpacks are extra and can be purchased within the app.
@Josh
Your statement regarding Swankolab here is different from what you wrote as user Swankolab at facebook:
"SwankoLab Sadly, swankolab has become the red-headed step child of the SyntheticCorp product line, which is totally not cool, because swankolab is pretty flippin' sweet. This week we will be submitting an update that fixes the noir ios 4 issue as well as a couple of other cool things. thanks for all the support swanko-users.
07. September um 00:17"
We should already have the longawaited update and you are telling us about first betas.
Please explain.
Oh, I totally agree with Toomba.
The Hipsta Guys are really disappointing so far. They ignore Swankolab (and it's convenient one-time in-app subscription) for Hipstamatic's more-money approach including a printing service and new lenses. I love the app and I love the idea, but I'm just sad that Swanko is getting ignored.
Never seen the attraction of either Swankolab or Hipsta, Long winding, style over substance IMHO. Rarely used apps on my iPhone
SwankoLab is definately under-estimated !
It looks like a playfull app. but in fact is very powerful..
In fact, I think it would have been more appreciated if all the fanciness would have been left out and the true app would be seen.
Hipstamatic is Hipstamatic > great app, be carefull to not loose your creativity! Ina lens is fabulous and I hope the new one will be as well.
A new update of SwankoLab is coming real soon, beta's of Hipstamatic were just handed out this week..
I cannot wait. It has been a long time since there was an update to Hipstamatic. Swankolab really needs an update. I am looking forward to that as well.
can't wait..the new film doesn't look so attractive and also the lens is not that newish..i'm very interested in the printing service!!
I hope it can bring something exciting to us.
Hey guys,
We understand your frustration with SwankoLab but we are super excited about the new update and what printing means for our company. We've focused some extreme energy to the new Hipstamatic update and the HipstaMart.com print lab. Not sure if you guys are aware that we are a small family of 5 at Synthetic. SwankoLab is our next update to tackle and we won't disappoint!

Thanks for the response, Mario. I really don't care if you guys add more stuff to Swankolab, I was just hoping for the bugs iOS4 introduced to be fixed. Good luck with the Hipstamatic update, and I look forward to an updated Swankolab.
Mario:
Totally understandable, I myself figured you were probably a small company...take the frustration about the updates as a compliment (as I do love all your apps, and have been waiting for a fix for the noir chemical blue streaks bug...but that's because I love what your app does for black and white photographs). We love your stuff it's just sometimes we are in the dark about what is going on behind the scenes. Much love.
OMG. I can't wait. I've only been an iPhone user for a couple of months, and this is like, the best news ever. I just love Hipstamatic, and I'm SO glad that I'll be able to disable the flash!
*does cartwheels*
for me, hipstamatic was a huge letdown.
the quality is bad, the photos look so patchy, i dont like how you cant upload photos from your album.. so many times ive wanted to take a pic of something with hipstamatic, and not had the time because i had to start up the app, load the lens, film, then shoot.. and my opportunity is gone.. where as what i do now is i use the camera, and edit at a later date in pictureshow.
i also dont like how all the lenses and film are being charged for.. hipstamatic have a huge following, but for me, they dont do enough for their buyers... id love to use the app more.. but at the moment i favour pictureshow over it , for these reasons : more effects , they install multiple free filters, borders, lighting effect, its alot faster and you can upload photos to it..
i really hope hipstamatic turns a page, because at the moment im feeling like i wasted money on what little it does, and i know im not alone
I have a bunch of photo apps - so what I'm about to say isn't bashing - just amusing to me...
I think it's interesting that people demand/pay for the highest quality and most technological features from their electronic devices (phones/cameras) and then spend more money to make the images look like they were done with inferior technology that we were so glad to have improved on. It's a bit ironic....
I hear you Craig. It's just like when we finally had the technology to take photographs, artists kept painting portraits and landscapes! Tech and innovation has allowed us to capture the most accurate representation of a subject, but pure realism is not often the goal of art. Personal expression always finds a way to trump technology.
Excellent. Hipstamatic is truly unmatched at what it does, it continually amazes me how people can be so cheap to complain about the $.99 add-ons. It would still be a top-5 photo app if it never had a single add-on over the standard equipment.
