My photo, by Glyn Evans

Glyn Evans In a continuation of the "my photo" series, here is a photo I shot just a few days ago whilst on a day trip.
I headed out towards Weymouth on the Dorset coast line (in the UK), and decided to stop off at a landmark called Sandsfoot Castle. I'd seen this English Heritage site listed many times before, but had never stop to take a look. Whilst the castle itself is little more than a fenced off ruin, the view across Portand bay is breathtaking.
Being around mid-day, with the sun was facing me, it was impossible to get a well exposed photo with the iPhone alone, even with Apple's new HDR Photography feature, so I fired up Pro HDR, and this is what I got.
I took several photos using Pro HDR all with the sun facing me, but at different degrees of being hidden by the clouds. The app did a good job at producing some well balanced looking HDR photos, but none of then quite hit the spot. That was, until, just as I was leaving the site I turned to see the sun just disappearing behind another cloud, so I quickly took one last photo with Pro HDR, capturing the shot below.

When I returned home I decided to play around with the above photo some more, putting it through various apps, before settling on CinemaFX, resulting in the following two breathtaking photos.

Oh great, now I have to buy ANOTHER app ;)
Wow!! Glyn I'm speechless. Great capture! Does Pro HDR works on the 3GS?
Cheers
@Tony, yes Pro HDR will work fine on the 3GS, but not the 2G or 3G.
Glyn,
Fantastic shot! I've become a big believer in Pro HDR and it's become my primary photo app for shooting travel and scenery shots. The new Apple HDR albeit a nice step forward does not produce the quality as Pro HDR. My only complaints about Pro HDR - where's the GPS location feature & what about bracketing 3+ shots?
Might be worthy sending a request to the guys at eyeApps.
Best,
Jeff
Glyn, a truly beautiful shot! Thanks for the plug :)
Jeff, we're adding GPS/EXIF data to our next version. Stay tuned.

Just beautiful, Glyn. Off to the App Store to fill my iPhone Photography folder with these now.
I understand CinemaFX does NOT save full iPhone 4 resolution yet?
@Fedorov, that's what I thought, and was pleasantly surprised to find it does.
I’ll have to really step up my game now that I see what’s possible when opportunity meets preparedness. Great work Glynn.
P.S. I tried the "My response is on my own website" link. After entering the information and clicking submit I get a blank page.
Thanks Glyn! Bought! :)
great pic! love Pro HDR... and have now just downloaded CinemaFX. i already had Nexvio's Focallab...sure wish they'd update both of these great apps!
That's a lovely place which I visited during a holiday I had in Weymouth a couple of years ago. That was before the whole iPhoneography thing took off, so I don't have any iPhone photos of it, but you've really done it justice there - it looks great!
I'm not a huge fan of ProHDR's halos, but you used it very well here. It works very nicely in this photograph. Nice image! And I agree -- it was a good photo to start with.

WOW!
