App Store Description: Introducing the newest photo app from the makers of CameraBag: Infinicam! Like CameraBag, Infinicam applies high quality effects to photos, but instead of having a set number of pre-defined camera styles, Infinicam offers an endless variety in a fun, stylish interface.
With each press of its New Camera button, Infinicam generates a new and unique randomized camera style. These high quality effects go far beyond the usual range of toy camera styles, and Infinicam also features 18 high-quality film-style borders lovingly recreated to delight photography buffs.
There are literally billions of possible camera styles to discover, with advanced algorithms in place to assure a high hit rate of unique, high quality results. Once a favorite camera style is found, it can be easily saved and named for instant access later.
When you email a modified photo to a friend from within Infinicam it includes a link that, when clicked, automatically loads the same camera style in Infinicam on your friend’s device. New camera styles can also be found on the Nevercenter website, accessible via the app.
Other features include a cropping tool, camera history, manual camera code entry, full-resolution saving, iOS4 retina-display support, and more.

Editors comments: Infinicam from Nevercenter, the developers behind the very successful CameraBag is bit of a mishmash of apps already available for the iPhone. This app contains square frames and effects similar to those found in Hipstamatic, 35mm slide frames and effects similar to lo-mob, and effect codes that can be share just like Live FX, as well as some that are unique to Infinicam itself.
Just like any other app, Infinicam will not suit everyones style of photography, in fact I struggled to get anything I really liked from this app, although I did get the one below, but if are like me you like CameraBag, then you may be disappointed by this app.

I think the app is great and they did a wonderful job with it. Sure its a mish mash of apps but apps I don't use like live fx. I think you should give it another shot (pun intended) I have been getting good results.
can i have anything new with this app having already pictureshow, hipstamatic, lo-mob, camera+, camerabag?i think no..these apps are becoming always more similar to each other..we need new ideas!!
The concept is great, but the execution is rubbish. As well as the description of the app is a deceiving lie. They claim the app is full resolution, but what you'll find is that if you test the app saving with each includes border, that almost all of them save at various aspect ratios & are not full resolution. This is very disappointing & has left me feeling ripped off. For a big name like CameraBag behind them, I feel scammed & misled by this purchase. Also this app would have been a nicer idea to have iPad support, I hope this gets a major update & improvement ASAP. So far it's a 2 star app in my honest opinion, since I expected more & less deceiving.
@ale
But that's just it how many apps did you you list, now I have to open one app to get the fx I want. Don't get wrong I am not writting this while wearing my infinicam t-shirt it is slow to process and it's all in all nothing new but really what pict app is.
The resolution issue blows I did see that in the review they need to fix that! Also they do need a iPad app after I would give it a 4 star review right now I think it's a 3.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by the resolution issue. I just shot off 5 random images and the all are using full resolution - the only change being when the aspect ratio changes i.e the 35mm film sprocket effect which has a wide screen aspect ratio so some cropping has to occur, but the the long edge is stiil the maximum of my iPhone 4 which is 2,592 pixels.

It saves at full resolution or somewhat less if image is cropped, but this is to be expected with cropping. It e-mails at full resolution as well, so I don't see what is there to fix. There is certainly some overlap with other apps, but it has some nice original combos too. Overall it is a nice app and it is a breeze to use.
If you like random effects. I like a little control over the way my photos get changed. I don't see how desaturating my photos and sticking a fake border around them makes them "better".
Full resolution is full resolution!
Not sorta, kinda, close to full, but full resolution of the original photo used. I'm very disappointed with Nevercenter for they now claim the app "saves at full resolution of the cropped aspect ratio of the border" What kind of thought process when into that? That is just an awfully deceptive response. The majority of the borders included in Infinicam are not full resolution but cropped, downgraded borders. You can't claim & sell an app as full resolution BUT then crop an image because the user decides to use the great looking borders you've included to then crop & downgrade the saved results. That just pure nonsense!
For example using a 3GS 1536x2048 image I saved photos with Lo-Mob, Pictureshow & Pictone using the 35mm sprocket film borders, each of these apps saved to full 1536x2048 resolution. But Infinicam's idea of full resolution saved to 1221x2048 & that folks is not full resolution. Don't even think of the square imaged borders or using a previously cropped image of your own, that will be another let down too.
I do like the effects you can generate with Infinicam very much a copycat of LiveFX & Pictureshow combination. But unfortunately Infinicam falls short & the whole experience & execution of the app is poor. I expected more from them & this app hasn't impressed me at all & with the resolution issues I'm unhappy already. I thought Nevercenter would come back with a mind-blowing app but instead the only released a dud!
2-2.5 stars is what I'd give it. And at $1.99 it's over-priced for what you get. Overall sadly I am unimpressed
Paul I don't think anyone is claiming the app makes a photograph better. You could say the same of people that used to make Polaroid transfer prints - the technique itself doesn't make a good image it was just an interesting artistic technique that allowed people to express themselves beyond the basic image. In the end it is all highly subjective and some like yourself will dislike it whilst other will embrace it because they like experimenting further with their images, whether for fun or aesthetic reasons. But in the end an image is only as good as the photographers "eye" whether it is used "as is" or further manipulated.
James where you use the example of the 3GS's 1536 x 2048 image produced with Lo-Mob, Pictureshow & Pictone using the 35mm sprocket film borders saving to the phones full resolution, that is because each of these app developers has chosen not to use the correct aspect of 35 mm film which is 3:2, they instead choose to use the iPhones default ratio which is 4:3, but then Infinicam doesn't use the correct 35 mm aspect either - it is closer to 16:9 widescreen but I think this is probably an aesthetic decision rather than not being bothered to make it fit the 4:3 aspect. I think all Nevercenter are trying to offer is a variety of aspect ratios that are different from the bog standard iPhone 4:3 ratio. At the end of the day the app produces some of the images at full res whilst others will be cropped or square. Personally I prefer some of the cropped aspects for some images to the usual 4:3 and when it comes to printing the difference really doesn't show.
To give you an example from a "real" camera my Panasonic Lumix GF1 Micro Four Thirds camera has the ability to change the aspect ratio of the photographs being taken as follows:
Standard Resolution: 4000 x 3000 12 megapixels 4:3 aspect (same as standard iPhone aspect)
Widescreen: Resolution: 4000 x 2248 9 megapixels 16:9 aspect (cropping as in Infinicam)
Square: 2992 x 2992 9 million pixels 1:1 aspect
The length remains the same on both the standard resolution and the widescreen resolution but because of of the aspect ratio the widescreen image is shorter on the width - you can not keep to the standard width and increase the length without interpolation which incidentally Lo-Mob does when creating wide screen aspects such as AE TTV Saturated Virage. Personally I would prefer not to use an image interpolated in an app - if i needed to do this I would do it in Photoshop. The same happens with the square image - you can only use the width as the dimension unless you apply interpolation.
This app suffers from the same problem like many other toy camera wannabe apps, it's filters are cheap, feel hurried and lack class. I can smell a quick cash-in three miles against the wind and this app smells from that direction. The photo borders are nice but the filters are horribly poor, they just make photos look bad.
You people kill me! Anyone would think you have paid $50 for a camera. Things to bear in mind are that you can see from the app store page what the general appearance of the filters is. I think more importantly, you are taking photos with an IPHONE! It's a phone. It's not a $5000 camera who's quality is being degraded by cheap optics. It's a phone.
I've never seen people try and be so precious about photos other than with actual expensive cameras.
Personally, my only gripe with this app is that I would prefer to choose a combo (saved as my own preset ideally) and then shoot some pics, like ClassicPAN and Hipstermatic, rather than taking a shot with the basic cam, then approve it and then start applying filters. That woudl make it more like a camera than a post process. Otherwise, I love this app.
Craig I couldn't agree with you more - the app costs half the price of a cup of coffee on the high street for goodness sake. It's not the best photo app I have bought but I am still enjoying using it.
I feel conflicted on the point regarding cost and value. I totally agree that what we pay for this app (and apps in general) is too small to merit any real aggro or regrets. But following through with this stance would mean that we can no longer be critical of majority of apps since most of them cost next to nothing if not nothing :-)
@Craig Oh sorry! I didn't know that the cheap price for an app is an excuse to make the app store awash with more of the same mediocre stuff!
Fact is, the developer wants to make us believe that his app is something of good quality while it's not.
What bothers me about this app is that it crops off/cuts off part of the image most of the time. If there is a portrait, it will often cut off part of the head, depending. And the 5 or so slide mounts are useless, imo.
As far as the results are concerned, well, they say there are "billions" of possibilities, and that's enough to keep me from getting bored - in this kind of app it's a free for all anyway.
I have gotten some really interesting results, but again, much of the time they are useless, as they crop off part of the image. This is too big of a blunder, as in an iphone the space is so limited anyway - I usually don't shoot with extra room around the subject.
I can work with it. That's all that matters as far as I am concerned.
Yes - it's workable.
I'll just have to leave a 20% open space for cropping around all sides. Of course when I shoot with regular equipment I can see what I'm going to get.
this app's filter is even better than hipstamatic!
though not better UI than HIP.
can't require more on this app u guys.
its pics are beautiful and not so exageratted.
highly recommend!
