Following feedback here on the iPhoneography blog, developers CodeGoo has just released an update to Camera Genius [Editor: I'd just like to say "thanks guys for listening and responding to us"], and with it comes the all important and much requested full-res support within the apps editing feature.

So what's new in version 3.0.2 of Camera Genius?

  • Translation updates to all languages.
  • Full EXIF data saved in each photo.
  • Full EXIF/Geolocation data preserved in
  • Burst mode auto saving when save confirmation is off.
  • Capture photo burst with timer on as long as repeat mode is not set.
  • Anti Shake button position remembered between video and photo mode switch.

Excellent for the developer to respond so quickly! I'll put my $.99 behind that.

Initial impression, I like it. Good intuitive interface. The "Adjust" interface is different than I've seen anywhere else, with previews for everything. The sliders for every adjustment is a great touch.

The one thing I don't like is that most of the Effects have a border packaged with them, and many of these packaged borders are not available separately in the Borders dialogue.

One (easy?) interface improvement would be to enable swiping from one effect to the next.

The new update is a huge improvement. I still shot my pictures with ProCamera or the regular iPhone camera, but I will give Camera Genius a chance to be the processing app of choice.

Thanks for the heads up Glyn, it's a joy to know that the developers responded so quickly and addressed the issue that most of us had with the app. I'll be sharing this bit of glad news with my readers right now.

i tried to import the pics that i took from other digital cameras and also taken from iPhone and saved to camera roll. For all those pics i am getting the higher resolution.

Never mind the App, what about that icon. Worth buying for that alone!
