You should be getting a solid 24fps at medium quality. If that's not the case hop over to http://getsatisfaction.com/midnox and we can help you figure out why you're getting choppy output.

It also saves the original video so if something goes wrong you at least have that!
That's a fair point. But most people I know don't like the hassle or the wait of post processing. With Luma you tap to enable stabilization, and tap record. That's it. Same goes for filters. We're also doing some pretty clever stabilization stuff that gives better results than iMovie, for example.
Luma is free, by the way, so you don't lose anything by having it. If you're on an iPhone 4 and you want to record a video with some cool effects and painless stabilization, then use Luma. Otherwise don't. It's your choice :) On the iPad 2 you get full 720p recording all the time, so the choice is even easier there.
We're also adding features all the time. Just today we released an update that adds a real-time sepia filter. And more cool stuff is on the way (including some more performance optimizations)!

I hope you get what i mean. thanks for the reply, i appreciate devs who keep in touch.

Glad you like the update! You're right about cropping (zoom) when stabilization is on, but there's no way around that since there needs to be room for removing hand shake (iMovie would do the same). We're working on more cool features, and making always looking for ways to improve Luma further. So definitely drop us a note if you have any other feedback!
Cheers,
Alex
