PicFrame update, could this be the best diptych app for the iPhone?

PicFrame, the app that lets you combine multiple photos in to one image has just been updated to version 3.0, bring with it the following new features and improvements.

  • Full resolution saving for iPhone 4S
  • Apply effects to individual photos (double tap a photo)
  • Frames are now fully adjustable, tweak each area of the frame by dragging the borders that separate them
  • Easily move photos to different areas by drag and drop (touch a photo until it pops out then drag and drop into another area)
  • Easy rotate/mirror controls (double tap a photo)
  • 2 new frames
  • 20 new patterns
  • 15 new label fonts
  • New help screens to walk you through the app
  • More resolution options when saving and sharing

In my opinion, this update has made PicFrame the best diptych app for the iPhone or iPad, and priced at £0.69/$0.99/€0.79*, is worth every penny/cent.

I agree, David improves updates above & beyond what many expect & he is always thinking of ways to make or include more with simplicity in mind. This update showcases just that!

Maybe the price for that app is really worth, but is it adopted only for the Iphon 4S or I can use it on my Iphone 3 as well?

@Marcis, it works fine on the iPhone 4 and 3GS, but I'm not sure the 3.

I almost bought PicFrame and still would if someone would point out the features it has that Diptic 4.5 doesn't. Anyone have both that can chime on on why they think PicFrame is better? I know it isn't a huge investment and I could just buy it myself and find out but honestly I've got hundreds of apps on my iPhone and 80% of them never get used which adds up to over $100 that I've spent on apps that didn't improve upon what I already had. I think Diptic was lagging behind before the 4.5 update but when I compare features now, they seem almost identical. Still, I'm very willing to drop a buck or two for a feature that puts it above. :-)

I created a picframe group for flickr if anyone would be interested in joining. Just search for picrame or picrame for iphone in flickr groups.
