Give your photos some mono love with Tonaltopia

Tonaltopia for the iPhone [App Store Link] and Tonaltopia HD fro the iPad [App Store Link] from Appnotix lets you create that black and white, toned or sepia look to your iPhone or iPad photos, that evoke a sense of nostalgia to your images. As the developer says, "Sometimes the goal is to make the new photo look like an old photo, evoking a sentimental feeling, as if you're recalling a faded memory from long ago or create a monochromatic photo using some colour rather than the entire spectrum to give your photo a more powerful look".

Both apps have some similarities to apps like Dramatic Black & White and Monochromist, and produce some nice results. Right now, and for a limited time, both apps are available for FREE from the App Store, and are definitely worth downloading.

Nice enough, but saving times are brutal, to put it mildly. Otherwise a good complimentary tool with Noir.

I second zerozero31's assessment: it took 1 min 50 sec to save an edited image as "Hi Quality" on my iPhone 4.

Zero: agreed... but that's the beauty of a free app early into its development. Who knows? With an update or two, this could be excellent. I definitely snagged a copy while it's free (and a big thank you to Glen for that!)

Nice app, & results are good too. worthy of getting since it's free... but if you already use on of the others it might not be something you'd use or wanna pay for. Honestly looks like it was developed by Jixipix for Appnotix. There isn't one detail other than using a different reader & footer within the UI that isn't JixiPix even the startup direct to their websites URL ... Michael did this app I would bet money on... or they highly cloned his work!

Intriguing! As a super-fan of Noir and longtime dodge/burn user in Photoshop for similar results, this looks very promising. Glad I discovered this post!
