Focus on Imaging: It's Perfectly Clear

Above: Brad Malcolm, President of Athentech Imaging.2 weeks ago today, I attended the "Focus on Imaging" Expo at the Birmingham NEC, here in the UK. Whilst there, I met up with Brad Malcolm, President of Athentech Imaging, the people behind the iPhone/iPad app and desktop plugins Perfectly Clear. Now as many of you know, Perfectly Clear has had a turbulent past 6 months, which started when the app was updated from version 1.x to 2.0, which brought us some new and improved features, but also some bugs and major stability problems. As some of you may know, I had the chance to work closely with Brad and his development team, trying to help them resolve some of these crashes, by beta testing both the iPhone and iPad versions prior to their releases, so this meeting was a good opportunity for me to catch up with Brad, and ask him what had gone wrong.

During the meeting we talked about the app, the problems, that I and many of you had been, and still are experiencing, and we shared ideas and thoughts. Brad was very open and frank about the app and the problems, and whilst I can not disclose the content of this part of the conversation, I am now fully understand what happened, what went wrong, but most importantly what Athentech are planning to do to resolve the issues. What I can say is that Brad and his team are 100% committed to these apps, and that version 3.0 of Perfectly Clear will bring this much used and loved app back to the top of its league, and whilst there are no timescales on a version 3.0 release, I am sure it will be sometime before the end of the summer.

Now for those of you who do not have a copy of Perfectly Clear, I have some good news, I have a small number of promo codes for both Perfectly Clear for the iPhone and Perfectly Clear for the iPad. Now you wont find these promo codes anywhere else on the web, these are exclusive to the iPhoneography blog, so if you don't already own a copy of Perfectly Clear, and would like the chance of bagging yourself a free copy, then post in the comments section, which version you would like, and why I should give you one of these rare promo codes [keep it clean please ;)] and over the next few days I will select what I think are the best comments and email the lucky winners a promo code.

This is my first time hearing about the Perfectly Clear app, and it sounds great! As a upcoming
iPhoneographer, I feel the addition of Perfectly Clear to my camera app arsenal would most definitely help improve my images.
So your generosity of a promo code for Perfectly Clear would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Ken

Hi Glyn.

This would certainly be a useful app for me. I have recently moved to a new country and started an iPhoneography photo blog to keep friends and family up-to-date with pictures. Perfectly Clear would be a great addition to my arsenal.

iPhone version please!

I love taking pictures using my iPod 4G but due to its low picture quality (more noise and blurry sometimes) I always ended up editing them in other apps to hide it. I'm new to photography and I love everything so far. I wish I could have this app to fix the problems I have and enjoy getting more clear pictures.

I just love the Perfectly Clear app on my iPhone 4 and use it almost every week at least once. Now my mom is getting an iPad 2 and she will be transfering her digital camera shots to it. I would love for her to be able to use the image enhancement possibilities of Perfectly clear on her iPad as she doesn't have a computer to edit them on.

I'd be very gratefull for an iPad code so I can show her how to use this amazing app when the iPad 2 arrives this friday (hopefully)

Hello Glynn.
I am new to iPhone photography and following your blog I got many photo apps and currently testing them. I am getting an iPad on Saturday and would love to be able to edit my photos there.
Thank you,

Dimitris

Hey,

I'm a UX designer working on mobile services and applications. If this is such an inspiring app, let I would love to learn from it and help "spread" good design.

My pictures are rubbish, and I hope that Perfectly Clear will help make me *millions*. No, BILLIONS! Mwa hahahahahahaahhaa!

Cheers,

James

(p.s. either version would be cool, but prefer iPad if it's going!)

I have been expirimenting with iPhoneography since finding this blog several months again. I've accumulated a number of really great apps, but haven't gotten on the Perfectly Clear bandwagon yet. I'd love a promo code if you have any left!

Hi, I'd love a code for the iPhone version of Perfectly Clear (do the codes work in the UK?) I have a 3GS, so don't have the luxury of a flash on my phone, but that doesn't stop me from experimenting in all sorts of low-light conditions. Much of what I take under those circumstances doesn't end up being usuable, but I can't help but feel if I had this, I could have saved some really cool shots I'd got.

Why should you give me one of these rare promo codes? Because I haven't this (great?) app yet ;) (In case you think I'm crazy enough... please iphone version!)
