From what I've seen this far it's almost as good as promised. The new GUI is somewhat less intuitive than the previous what. The HDR is somewhat a bit of a disappointment (according to my first test it's just a flash enhancer).

I'll give the app a few more run before the final verdict, but the first test looks great.

This one goes to 11! Love the updates - tons more to play with now. Already one of my favorite & most-used apps just got significantly better!

This is really a great update I have been using this for a while and love the tools I think the single best feature of the new version is the focus/tiltshift effect that is awesome for faux depth of field.

These guys are definitely beyond the curve with this new release....

Kudos again the development team!!!

Wasn't there an option to turn off the date appearing on some of the frames before? Love the tiltshift effect ...

PictureShow was awesome until this release. With the removal of frame effects like "vintage dust" and noise effect "light smoke" the developer has hamstrung the many iPhoneographers who have been using this app -- and its classic filters and effects -- since its initial release. While the new additions to the app are interesting, the removal of some of the original filters -- with no suitable alternatives -- was unnecessary and left me no choice but to downgrade the app back to its previous version. I loved it until now. Hopefully this was a mistake that will be rectified by the developer.

The option to turn the date off (on the frames) is still in Settings (inside the app). Not sure how I missed it the first time!

I've just tried the new version, and even though I like the new additions to the effects, I miss a few of the old ones. I'm considering downgrading to the old version. I do hope this is a mistake though, it would be a perfect upgrade if the old effects were restored in next upgrade.

Same here. Pictureshow to me has ALWAYS been the best photo app, period, in the app store. But the removal of light smoke alone requires downgrade to the prior version. Wonder why they removed some of the filters/frames? Total bummer!!

After further look into the new version I am also downgrading...

Bring back the missing filters/frames, they were very usable.

Update quickly please.

Thank you.

Hmm, quantity instead of quality! I think Hipsta is still better.

March 6, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterloungy

Yes, please bring back the old filter effects!

In my experience, processing after a new picture is taken, takes a very long time. Like more than 7 seconds. Anyone else has this experience too?

March 6, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJos

As far as I can tell the Shift Tilt feature is useless as there seems to be no way of rotating the effect. For example load a portrait image and the only option you have is to apply the effect horizontally - the opposite occurs with a landscape format image.

I also miss the old filters and frames and think they were better than some of the new ones. I guess I'll be reverting back to the old version as well.

If there was only one photo app on my iPhone it could be PictureShow 3.

Yet some menu text is for me - wearing glasses - very hard to read. Processing seems also taking more time than in PictureShow 2

March 6, 2011 | Unregistered Commentermhoutman

After trying this app out some more, processing is definitely very slow.

Thanks for using PictureShow & Sorry for some issues.
First. There so many request of getting back v2.3 elements.
So we decide to get back some of them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Frame
- Instant : It was prohibited by Apple. We had to remove it.
- OldMat, Vintage Dust will be back.

Noise
- Smoke Light, Rust, Rub, Painting Drop will be back.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some could be refined and This will be updated in v3.1
Sorry for inconvenience again.

Right PictureShow v3.0 takes more process time.
Cause of new features like 'TiltShift' & 'HDR'.
We had tried to do best we could. and will try to enhance it.

Thanks guys.

hey!

I've downloaded the new version - but what is this?

the resolution of choosen photos in hq gets SO bad, when I upload it
in picture show. what happened??

has anybody the same problem?

March 6, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMisses Jones

As a previous poster has pointed out, it was very disappointing to find that the 'rectangle' tilt shift effect is not rotatable. I do like the controls, just wish that I could have horizontal, vertical, diagonal and every angle in between.

Thanks PictureShow Developer for letting us know you are bringing back the old stuff.

March 6, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKaz

@Kaz @Richard We'll try to make it to rotate rectangle area of tiltShift effect. I think it should be.
Thanks for good point.
