App Update: Lomora 2

Lomora 2 the successor to the original Lomora app that I slated way back laster year for its dubious pricing structure has recently been updated.

The original Lomora app was updated to Lomora 2 last September, and whilst I have not tested this app myself, it is favored by many iPhoneographers, including the renowned iPhoneographer Sion Fullana.

So what is Lomora, and what's new in the latest version 2.1?

App Store Description: Lomora captures one of the most realistic, if not THE most realistic LOMO photos to date. It uses a proprietary algorithm to closely replicate analog cross-processing that gives vivid LOMO effect to photos, capturing the very essence of true LOMO moment. Coupled with Lomora 2's significantly improved speed, ease of use and more intuitive UI, digital lomography has never been much easier and more alive! A new era in digital LOMO begins with Lomora 2!!

What's new in Lomora 2.1?

  • Retina Display Support
  • Flash Intensity Control
  • Ability To Turn On/Off iPhone Flash
  • Settings For Randomize With Flash/Filter Off
  • Auto Export Image To Camera Roll After Saved

do you know if the dubious pricing structure has been changed? Sion may use this App but his work that I see is B&W.

whoops...never mind (I went back and read your previous entries).

With the number of Apps, and the low price per App I find that I will buy one if I think it offers me just 1 new thing. I'm still undecided if Lomora fits that requirement.

I own it, bought it because I like bright, oversaturated Lomo-y colours. I'm still undecided on whether it was worth the price. It struggles sometimes in low light, and doesn't let you choose a focus or exposure point, and sometimes the colour films are too much, like gaudy hooker makeup on a photograph.

What is nice in this version is the very improved saving process and random feature (used to not be able to turn off the faux flash).

I've noticed there's not many photos on Flickr tagged with Lomora, so I am trying to make sure I tag anything I take with the app in the hopes it helps people on the fence. My own 2 cents is if you want it, download AppShopper (for free), tag is as "Want it" and wait to be notified of a price drop. I'd be happy if I'd only paid $0.99 for it.

Hi,

The developer has submitted a new release pending apple review. It should have more features.

Hi,

Lomora has added several new features today.

1) single tap on the screen for focus
2) double tap on the screen for exposure
3) tap 3 times for flash

Warmest Regards
Wei Khuen
