App Update: Instagram

Above: The new "Brannan" filter.Instagram, the popular photo sharing app has just been updated to version 1.6, and with this update has come a new, albeit slightly boring, filter called "Brannan". In addition to this new filter the app has received a number of bug and performance improvements.

Whilst the update went without hitch on my iPhone, there are are number of people reporting this new version crashes and is buggy. The developers behind Instagram have responded to these reports by suggesting that if you delete the app from your iPhone, and then re-download it from the App Store, the stability problem will go away. As I did not experience any of these issues, I am unable to confirm if the suggested fix works or not, so if you did have problems and followed these instructions, perhaps you would like to provide feedback in the comments section of this post, as to whether the fix worked or not.

Instagram kept crashing like crazy before and after the update.
I Uninstalled and reinstalled, everything works fine ever since (and feels faster). Other people have reported this way to be effective.

I had problems after updating the app. Crashed upon launch, so uninstalling then reinstalling worked like a charm, no issues so far.

I had the blank screen and crash problems after updating, but an uninstall/reinstall fixed it right up. And, the new filter is rather nice on the right pictures. ;)

Love the update, now the camera is on almost instantly when tapping the share button and doesn't seem to crash as often when re-opening the app (well it hasn't crashed yet)
