Turn your iPhone photos in to works of art with AutoPainter

AutoPainter is a newish app from the developers of Dynamic Light, and attempts to turn your iPhone or iPad photos into 4 incredibly realistic impressionistic styles.

The styles:

• Aquarell: Running colors, water removal, dry scratches: it is all there in this wonderful style. Works great on flowers, landscapes, old buildings or even people.
• Benson: Inspired by work of Frank Benson (1862-1951). This style has a sunny palette with Mediterranean tones. It does enhance inner light and color harmony and it works best on sunny landscapes and outdoors. 4XATPJ4HNMEW
• Cezanne: Inspired by late work of Paul Cezanne (1839 - 1906). Painted on an artistic paper, the quick brush strokes with warm, and yellows and chalk details will work wonders on flowers and still life.

The app is incredibly easy to use, and produces some very pleasing painterly effects. None of the versions save at the full input images resolution. I have the iPhone and Mac versions and neither save in full resolution which is quite odd for the desktop version. The Mac desktop version is limited to a max of 2000 pixels in either dimension. This is a real shame as the results are really very good, but if you want to have the images printed as large canvas prints 10 x 8 inches would probably be the max.

I really don't understand why full resolution is such a problem for devs to implement right from the start, eventually most of them do achieve this.
