Coming Soon: Hipstamatic 210

Synthetic, the developers behind Hipstamatic have just published a sneak peak on the Hipstamatic Facebook page, of their pending Hipstamatic 210 update, along with the following statement.

Hipstamatic 210 will include: "Native Twitter Sharing, A New FREE Standard Lens, Full Screen Viewfinder Mode, Redesigned Album Section, and never miss another FreePak, because we've added Push Notifications. Oh, and a special Endless Summer Edition HipstaPak. MORE TO COME!"

There is no indication as to when we can expect to see this update, but you can be sure it will be reported here on the iPhoneography blog.

I am really looking forward to the twitter support and the push notifications the most. Not so sure about the full screen viewfinder though but they seem to know what they're doing!

They stated in a comment on their Facebook page that the update is already in review at Apple. So should be 1 or 2 weeks max.

@Hipcheck, thanks, looks like I missed that

It's easy to miss, hidden in 500+ Facebook comments;-) They should have put that in the main article.

Like i mentioned on another iPhoneography-themed blog, the full-screen view finder is a definite bonus. The lens, yeah, whatever, but what would make Hipstamatic the perfect app for me is the option to add borders later, or not at all, a la Cameramatic, a similar app.

Isn't it just me or are 'we" over the whole Hipstamatic app yet? I mean I am still waiting for the promised but never followed through SwankoLab updates that "we" all paid for in advance & those have yet to ever materialize. So personally I am not too interested in another mediocre Hipsta update from Synthetic who seems to be more into taking our hard earned money & giving sub-par updates & add-ons back.

not to be a troll or anything, but i *still* don't get why anybody gets so hyped about hipstamatic.

isn't it better to take a normal (non-filtered) pic for the source and then run it thru all the crazy distortorama fx you want by choosing from the camera roll and blending a variety of apps to have true options for the final outcome?

maybe it's just me, but i deleted hipsta after about 2 pics due to lack of functionality.

@kinto - heretic!!

Only joking. I am suspecting Hipstamatic is becoming a case of the emperors new clothes. Like you, I'm actually considering going extreme Lo-Fi by using the standard camera or Camera+ to take my pictures and then editing them afterwards in, for example Pictureshow or even Cameramatic (which is a really nice app by the way),

As long as Hipstamatic dont let you import pictures they've got you hooked as you need to use the app to get the nice results.

Like I said, my biggest gripe with Hipstamatic is the borders ...

the 210 update is live now :) along with the new bondi hipstapak (likely the endless summer pak mentioned) and the free lens :)

I'm getting pretty tired of being "sold" more stuff by these folks while having some serious issues with their primary application.

They just gave us image tagging. Cool! But wait, not my own tags, only tags that help promote their product. FAIL.

And we still can't record the original (unaltered) image or use their product to manipulate images already in our camera roll. Are they worried they will lose sales with a product that can actually work with MORE images? FAIL.
