Sneak peek at FotoMuse 2.0 beta

In a recent discussion thread over in our "User Forum", reader Jan Moller asked "Is FotoMuse not in App Store anymore?" Well Jan, as per Richard's reply, the developers behind FotoMuse have been working on an update, and for you and everyone else, here is a sneak peek of that update, FotoMuse 2.

Why Fotomuse is not available on the italian store?

@go3mon, it's not available in any store as the dev pulled it some time back.

This app looks to be just an overlay. Not sure if the original FotoMuse was the same or a more robust app. It had been pulled already when I got my iPhone. The video seems a little cheesy and repetitive. As Dan Marcolina uses this app a lot in his book, I have high hopes for the app and one of those is that it does a bit more than this video shows.

Is it just an app to put predefined layers on the pics? Arn't there enough apps around already with that feature? Guess i'll still prefer Iris which allows to use predefined layers (for those who like their pics as everyone else ones) AND my own structures. ;-)

i still have the original one. it's a cool app but it doesn't save at full res. i hope they corrected that with this update.

@Joey Yes it does save at full res & that update was at least 6 months ago or more

Remember this is a sneak peak at a beta app in the making. It doesn't have all the features or function shown here is just a preview of function that the original did not do.

I love FotoMuse despite its limitations. Excited about this update. Do you know when it will be released? Thanks!

There are certain Apps that are out in front of the wave, which is a good thing, FotoMuse was one of those. This App was one of the very first (or the first) to bring the capabilities of overlay, textures and grunge effects to the iPhone. Frankly, although these capabilities are possible with PC's, it was iPhoneography that brought this method of manipulation ito popularity. So in that regard FotoMuse was really in the lead.

Like many Apps there were bugs. Unlike most Apps there was no 2 way communication channel between iPhoneographer and developer. As a result the App became more and more problematic and more and more dated. Now that there are any number of Apps which grunge images, and several marvelous Apps which have taught us how to apply our own textures FotoMuse is playing "catch up ball."

I wish you a lot of luck. Work hard!
