Quick Tip: Grab that shot with QuickPix

Glyn Evans If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you will know that I recently went on a trip to Egypt, and what a trip this was.
Whilst there, I did all the usual touristy things, saw and shot plenty of temples etc, and took some staged shots of some of the "locals", all at a cost [$$$], however I wanted to get some natural non staged, non posed shots, and thanks to the £0.59/$0.99/€0.79 QuickPix app [App Store Link], I did.
Whilst traveling via horse and carriage I used QuickPix with its rapid fire mode, and randomly shot and captured the following street scene, something that would have been impossible without this app.

1) You don't have to switch into a burst mode. It's always accessible just by holding the still button. When I want to capture a bunch of shots it's usually because something great just happened and I don't have time to switch into a different mode.
2) The way more important reason is that the camera+ burst is not full resolution. In fact, they are 640x480 on the iPhone 4 (0.3MP). QuickPix produces full 5MP pictures (over 16 times the amount of detail). And they don't make that obvious. I'm sure a lot of people are taking burst mode photos without realizing how much quality they are sacrificing.
Anyway, hope this helps. If you want to try it out, shoot me an email at twoteethtech@gmail.com and I'll try to get you a promo code if I have any left.
Thanks!

Do try the burst from time to time though. I find it indespenable for getting good shots in many situations. See what John Edwin Mason was able to do with it at the race track: http://bit.ly/iV1rzR
Stayed tuned and thanks for trying the app!
