King Camera is on sale right now in the App Store

King Camera, the new all-in-one camera replacement app goes on sale today for a limited time priced at £0.59/$0.99/€0.79.

I've not actually reviewed this app yet, but my first impressions are...

"King Camera is a promising looking new app, that whilst not quite as sleek and speedy as the camera found in Camera+, it does look like it will give the current leader of the pack a run for its money, and already equals the camera functionality found in ProCamera."

If you already have, and are happy with, Camera+ or ProCamera, then you are unlikely to want/need King Camera, as it may seem like more of the same, but that said if you haven't bought an all-in-one camera replacement app yet, then at this special sale price, King Camera should be considered.

Hi Glyn

We look forward to your complete review....

But I can guaranty you that King Camera has unique features that Camera+ and ProCamera don't have or else what's the point of spending 9 months building the same old thing?

We give the user the ability to create their own Looks and save them to re-use them over and over again.

The user always keeps the original photo and can make as many edits as he/she wants of that photo... all saved in a nice stack.

Users have been asking of one tap sharing to Facebook, Flickr and Twitter and King Camera does that plus email and Dropbox.

Not to mention all the advanced camera features that you won't find in Camera+ like:
Full res burst mode (and even our super fast med res is 960x720)
Time Lapse and Stop motion Animation
VIDEO!
Big Button
Exposure Lock

When you state "whilst not as full featured as Camera+", I beg to differ. We truly believe we have unique features that users have been waiting for. Please test King Camera and we look forward to your detailed review.

In the mean time, your readers can watch our detailed video tutorials to make an informed decision: http://www.saycheezzz.com/king-camera/tutorials/

Thank you Glyn

I agree with the above post. This app combines several of the attributes missing from Camera+ and other cam apps into one package. You really ought to give it a try before you dismiss it as "just another" camera app.

That said, it has some missing attributes too, like pinch to zoom editing. Hint, hint.

Im surprised at iphoneography for publishing such claims without trying the app first. I got the .99 promo and already I see more features in king camera then camera+ so I am puzzled by Glyn's claim.

King Camera is missing ability to re-process or stack/layer effects. What's the point of saving endless edits if you can't add to a previous edit, rather than simply change it. More quality & unique stand out filter effects are needed. Majority are not ones I'd ever use. When creating an effect add it at the end of an effects list not first. Remove any & all branding on the frames & borders. A photo saved or a memory made & sent to mom, dad, grandma & grandpa in full resolution looks terrible with King Camera down the side. If an app is good, great, loved or popular among your user base. They will promote it, branding your borders & frames to ensure that, makes me not inclined to ever wanna use or share that image. The highlight of King Camera in my opinion is the Grunge filters set, the textures are ok, but need way more & quality not clutter of just ok ones. As well the Artsy frames & borders are a highlight, many are awesome & unique, but the branding on any kills them instantly to disappointment. The Cute frames are just that cute, girly & kid oriented being only pinks & purples. This app has potential, but by trying to be an all in one app many this fall short & get overlooked. Sure v1.0 is a nice app, but not one filter effect or texture compares to the quality of those found in PictureShow, Camera+, Bad-Camera or others. King Camera is just getting started & seeing v1.0 it's only bound to improve, it's impressive. But not a replacement for app I currently use thus far. I look forward to seeing what King Camera does next & so far I'm impressed, next time I want the WOW factor!

Hi Guys, I accept that my comments were perhaps miss-worded, and I have correct my comments to reflect that I was referring to my initial impressions of the camera functionality of this app, compared with the other 2.

My comments still stand, that for some this app may seem like more of the same, because the stills camera functionality is comparable with the other apps, and whilst I accept [having spent time playing with the app today] that the advanced editor offers more than its competitors, the quick fixes offer nothing new.

Please also bear in mind, this is just my first and initial impressions, that I hope will change over the next couple of days, as I prepare my review.

So I purchased the KingCamera App today and took it for a spin. I have to say that I like it. I still prefer Camera+. For some reason the camera is more responsive in Camera+. I do like the finishing options in CameraKing

I could not figure out how to rotate a landscape photo though?

All in all it took some really good photos. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=191561277558084&set=a.191577927556419.45498.168522796528599&type=1&theater

I agree with Mr. Timmy that that KingCamera branding will keep me from using any of the frames the contain the name. I also agree that a multiple layer option needs to be added in order for me to fully use the app the way I would like to.

For right now I will use Camera+ and bring in the photo to CameraKing if I want to add one their effects.

I really wish you would cut down on the word "whilst."

Oh & don't let me forget my major peeve with King Camera is the fact I disable ANY geo tag/location info with all apps. BUT how annoying is it using King Camera when anytime you tap the app screen you receive a "Geographical position not available!" pop-up on screen. Hey Saycheezzz DISABLE that annoying pop-up. I turned location off for a reason, not to have you pop-up & inform me of this every moment I use your app. I often close the app out of frustration, due to that alone!

@Bob Beeman
What exactly are you referring to? If it is Glyn's post above he used the word once, hardly an overuse!
