I'd be interested in knowing how this app stacks up against 8mm Vintage or Super8.

iSupr8 was the first vintage video app to sport HD recording, with others following suit. While iSupr8 does take a little longer because of the developing times, when you measure that against the choice of film stocks in the new app, and the fact that it actually processes and grades each pixel, rather than just putting an overlay on it, I would say it is well worth it. In my opinion this is absolutely the most feature packed, comprehensive and authentic app for this kind of thing in the app store.

I took some footage I shot with the regular video app and ran it through iSuper8 and Super8 and 8mm. I liked the result of iSuper8 the best. It warmed up the footage and gave it the same feel as the 8mm family films of my childhood in a more authentic way than the other apps,, which tend to overdo the flikering, dust, and jittery aspects so that your video looks like a caricature of super 8 rather than the real thing. The app impressed me so much that I am thinking about buying all the extra films.

One negative aspect -- the original footage was in portrait orientation. iSuper8 didn't keep the footage in its native orientation. Rather, it rotated it to landscape, and I could not figure out how to rotate it in app. I ended up using ReelDirector to rotate the footage back to portrait, but I shoudn't have to do that. Maybe there's something I missed that would allow me to have it keep the footage in portrait orientation.
