As many of you will know, I recently made some negative comments about the shutter delay/lag of the previous release of King Camera, version 1.03, which was affecting some, but not all of its users. As a result of these comments, which I vigorously defended, I got some serious bashing from some quarters, with some so-called readers putting in to question, my integrity. Despite all this, I stood by my comments, which were backed up by other readers. Following dialogue between myself and Saycheezzz, the team behind King Camera, I was sent a beta of 1.04, which addressed and resolved the shutter delay/lag that I had been experiencing. During the testing, I also identified a couple of other issues, which Saycheezzz have also addressed and resolved in this release.
I am now pleased to say, that the camera found in King Camera 1.04 is as fast and snappy as the iPhone's default camera, and overall the app is equal to or better than its competitors, putting this app firmly on the map of all-in-one camera replacement apps.
In addition to the shutter issue, version 1.04 also includes the following new features, improvements and bug fixes.
- NEW: Added Cancel Button to Export Dialogue
- NEW: User can now browse multiple pages in Photodesk when thumbs are in Selection Mode (to share/delete over multiple pages)
- NEW: Unlimited Photo taking in Camera. Removed "Photo Buffer Limit"
- SPEED: Camera Shutter Speed improved further: now steady under 1s. (Thank you iPhoneography.com for your help on improving this issue.)
- SPEED: App launches in 3.1s (iphone4) & 3.4s (3GS) (.75s faster)
- SPEED: All thumbs in Photodesk render in 2 seconds (fixed 1st thumb which taking 4s)
- SPEED: Photo Import from Camera Roll now only takes 2s
- SPEED: Camera now accessible from Photodesk when thumbs are still being rendered
- TWEAK: NEWS Button now points to our Twitter Account
- FIX: in Share Module, user could tap GO even if no Destination was selected
- FIX: flashlight icon bug when switching from video to camera mode
- FIX: some sounds were still active even if Sound Option was Off (Note: iOS prevents us from turning off Camera Shutter Sound)
- FIX: minor bug with double-tap gesture on crop zones
- FIX: to prevent Ram crash in 3GS, capped HD Burst at 9 shots

It's faster than previous releases but it's stll slow passing to each module.
It's not yet my go to cam app, but it remains on my homescreen and I continue to think highly of it due to this great support.
