Through the Lens of an iPhone, the Hipstamatic challenge: Week 2

This week has seen in increase in great photos for this months themed challenge, and the good news, this week has seen a lot less deletions and bans, although there are still a few who are not entering in to the spirit of these challenges.

Because there have been so many great entries, making my selection this week has been much harder than I expected, but I managed to whittle it down to the following 12 Hipstamatic photos, and for those who didn't make it this week, you've still got another 2 weeks, so keep shooting :)

any way to get the Salvador 84 Lens? I don't see it offered on the Hipstamatic site or offered on the app as in-app purchase.

I think it was a limited offer, but expired. would love to see those limited Hipstapaks offered again!

Sorry, but I find Hipstamatic pics mostly boring. I mean, matching a lens and film effect to get an edited/altered photo is not new, but Hipstamatic offers no control of the applied effects. You get what you get, sometimes just by chance or guess at what the result will be. I tried it for awhile, bought a bunch of paks, then deleted the app, then later reinstalled it and tried it again, then deleted it again. IMO, the best camera/photo editors are Camera+, Camera Genius and CameraPlusPro. If Hipstamatic allowed the user to take a photo, then apply various effects by rotating a dial with different lens and film combinations so the user could preview the effect and select which one to save, now that would be better. A slider to adjust the intensity of an effect would be an easy start to a better app.

I have this question: Considering that iPhone Apps are still fixing bugs with EXIF transfer, that Aperture marks transferred images with it's own name, and that you don't accept images that have been transferred from my iPad...just how certain are you of your reject list?

Just asking'.

Hi! Don't you still allow iPads to join this contest? You can have Hipstamatic or any other photography apps on an iPad 2. Thanks!

I have to agree with JAG.....Taking the photo then adding various effects after is a better option.
I use camera+, Then add effect using either camera+ or photoforge.

Thanks

Hi Glyn. Can you please clarify two issues for me:
1. I take thousands of photos a month using Hipstamatic on my iPhone and often do post processing on my iPad. The main reason is its easier on my deteriorating eyes, so the larger screen on the iPad helps! So are you refusing photos that are manipulated on an iPad yet still shot using Hipstamatic?
2. Is it ok to submit photos taken with Hipstamatic that have effects added by additional apps on my iPhone like FilmLab, ScratchCam, DXP2, PictureShow and so on?
I'm sure many participating members have the same uncertainty about these issues so if you would be so kind to clarify them it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Ant

Hi Antix. Thanks for asking the question, but in short, no, all entries for this months challenge must be Hipstamatic only.

In past and future challenges, this has not been, and will not be a problem.
