My Shot: "Electro Pop" by Glyn Evans

Above: "Electro Pop"On my recent trip to London (to see Gordon Fraser talk about iPhoneography at the Apple Store in Covent Garden), I took the opportunity to grab some street shots with my new favourite app, Nofinder.

When I first looked at Nofinder a few weeks back, I was a little unsure about a photo app that had no viewfinder, but since then, I've been playing with this app, and really like what it offers. As someone who is uncomfortable about taking "street photos", I have found Nofinder is perfect for "street photography", as it is not obvious to those around you that you're taking photos, although at the same time, there is no guarantee that the photos will be usable, but then again, that's part of the fun/appeal of this app.

So having taken a series of usable "street photography" shots with Nofinder, I decided to play around with them, and do something a little different.

First I took my high contrast black and white Nofinder photo and passed it through the quirky and only occasionally used Decim8 app, using the randomise feature, saving the looks that I liked. Next, I took the original photo and the Decim8 version I liked the most and ran it through an app newly introduced to me by Robson Santos (a.k.a. iPhotos_London), called Interlacer, giving me the final photo, that I've now called "Electro Pop".

The Apps

The following apps were used to create the final image "Electro Pop".

With the headphones it looks very Cyberman-ish. :-)

I like the B&W & Decim8ed one. Electro-pop doesn't work for me.

Decim8 is my favorite effect app. I never like to be photographed but thanks to Decim8, I actually take pictures of myself. Of course, I look all mangled, but I'm ok with that.
