Get the Looks for FREE

Movie Looks HD from Red Giant Software [the same people behind Noir Photo and Plastic Bullet Camera] is current available in the App Store for FREE. This universal video app lets you add 40 cinematic looks to you videos, which include:

  • Popular Film Looks: Inspired by motion picture favorites. Shoot your own crime drama, try out a classic war movie, or make a Bourne-inspired spy shoot.
  • Black & White: Adds contrast and highlight. Give the look of silent films, old-fashioned home movies or classic tinted effects.
  • Blockbusters: Modern edgy looks inspired by recent action films. Get the dark tones of Terminator Salvation or saturated Transformers shadows set in widescreen bars.

"Turn your family into movie stars with gorgeous color effects inspired by popular films like Terminator Salvation and Bourne Identity. Cue the soundtrack, ‘cause you’re the superhero behind the lens, adding warmth and character to your iPhone movies and loved ones in a few taps. Movie Looks HD creates vivid, glamorous, evocative colors and even applies cool film details like widescreen black bars.

These eye-popping cinema treatments are designed with the very same tools used by professional Hollywood filmmakers. Apply your own motion picture magic by choosing edgy action-hero colors, a romantic glow for portraits, or the tint of classic films."

Why can't they make Noir free instead?

@Ridwan:

Noir is good, but this app is also a must-have!

Instead of Noir, try the new Dramatic B&W instead. It's much cheaper and has similar features.

This app won't start until I enable "Location Services"

Don't know if that's a bug or not, but I'm not letting every random image/video app to access my GPS coordinates.

The location services thing is this way for ALL apps that access the photo libraries, and has long been a complaint from iPhone users. Apple gives third party apps access to the library, including the ability to read image info. One piece of info is the location (not your current location, but where you were when the pic was taken), and you have to allow location services in order for the app to see where you were when you took the pics. It's Apple trying to protect you from possible issues from the app, not the app trying to see where you are now. It's clunky.

In the AppStore decription it says that the Video Resolution is up to 720p videon on iPOD TOUCH, iPhone4 and iPad2.. But when I "develop" the movie it says that it cannot develop the movie on 720p bec the device doesn't support it. I'm on iPod Touch4 and obviously this supports 720p.
