Photo55 is a new app from Double H Productions that lets you create the look of the classic Type 55 or 665 film, with just a couple of clicks. This one-trick-pony app lets you either take, or create this look from exiting photos and save at a reasonable, but not great 1600x1200 pixels.

What is Type 55 film? Type 55 was a black and white 4X5 sheet film that produced both a positive and negative image. While the positive image was for review and intended to be discarded later, the border proved to be interesting and many famous photographers incorporated it into their final product.

This app is worthless, total waste of my €0.79... App crashes a lot, and when it doesn't, the options are errrr, non-existent.

This is a great app! I can finally make Type 55 polaroids without using photoshop layers. I haven't had any problems with the app crashing.

The borders you talk about and which you can see in the picture are the borders of the negative. The positive is just a white paper passepartout.
