Get Snapseed for FREE, but be quick

Snapseed from Nik Software has just appeared in the App Store for FREE.

In my opinion this is an excellent and must have universal app from a major software developer, for you iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, so go download this app now, and bag yourself what has to be one of the bargains of the year.

I just got this notification via the App Shopper app, but you still can't make the purchase. Says the item is currently being modified. It'll probably work in about 30-60 minutes.

I've had the same issue. Hope the error doesn't prevent me from downloading this - I've been looking forward to trying this out!

Same issue here too.

I get the same message.

This error is expected, takes time for the price change to propagate through all of Apples app store servers.

Probably should start working soon, the description of the app was just updated a few minutes ago to reflect the sale.

I have to say that my willingness to plunk down any money at all on apps is disappearing rapidly. Many of the apps that I've purchased seem to be available for free within weeks of my purchase. I'm all for free stuff. But if these developers ever want me to purchase their apps in the future, they may want to stop giving them away. Otherwise I'll just wait for the inevitable day when they decide to offer them for nothing and snap (pardon the pun) them up then.

@David Wood -- Yeah, I hear what you're saying. If there is an app I'm kinda 'meh' or just not to sure about, I add it to my wish list on the AppShopper app (http://appshopper.com/utilities/appshopper) and just wait for the price change. If it's a good enough deal, I'll snag it.

But there are plenty of apps that I've done insta-buys with just because I was so excited for its release :)

Too bad I've just downloaded it at $4.99 a few days ago!! :(
Anyway great app!

Sweet, I just got it for free! Thanks!

I thought about buying it when it came out, but I expected that it would go down in price. However, I expected a sale at $2 or $1 and not a free app.

I think that making it free was a poor decision, I would have happily paid $2 for it.

I have been looking at this app but not sure about the $4.99 price. Just downloaded it. Thanks for share this great deal.

Hello,

Can someone share what he/she uses the app for? I've downloaded it but I think it's just style with little substance (for a $4.99 app, mind you). IMHO, it does not feel redundant at all to have that app despite having PhotoForge 2, some HDR apps, and Camera+--but having the app feels like having an underachiever.

Thanks to those who would share ;)

@Miege

For me, it's the Selective Adjust module that's the killer feature. I find it much more intuitive than masking in PhotoForge2, and I think it delivers much more natural-looking results. If you've used the similar feature in their desktop products (Viveza, Color Efex Pro, etc.) it translates directly to the iPhone. The rest of Snapseed is pretty much the same as several other apps, but Selective Adjust is unique.

@David Wood

I thought the same too. But I also kinda like the grain effect--perhaps I don't have sharp eyes but I don't think other apps can do it just as nice.

I've been wanting this app for a several weeks now but really couldn't see parting with $5 price tag (since I'm not that good). But I finally downloaded it in the wee hours of the 21st.!! Now I can't wait to see "what" my pictures might come out looking like.

Thanks so much for letting ppl like me know when great apps like these go "on sale" or "just free"!!! Creativity abounds! :)

This is so irritating. This is a great app but I am so pissed when these guys do this. So many apps keep getting your initial money. Sales drop off so they give it away for free to build some buzz. And if it's a great app I usually buy it when it first comes out.
No more. Not buying anymore photo apps since we know that one day they will be free.

Lame.
