Create never ending photos, with Infinite Eye ∞

For a limited time, universal app Infinite Eye ∞ is available in the App Store for FREE.

As the app developer says, "this app lets you turn your iPad 2 and iPhone 4 cameras into mind-bending real-time visual feedback tunnels, blended overlays, rotating kaleidoscopes and visual trails. Watch reality as you know it twist, drip, reflect and delay in endless patterns, which you can manipulate in real-time."

Pretty funky! However, cripplingly low res photo output - 360 x 480 pixels!!! :-(

Very interesting app BUT... High Resolution or "Hi Res Photo editing / Hi Res result" is anything but High Resolution of Full Res. On an iPhone 4 my photos saved at 360x480 & 864x1157 both irregular & odd resolutions, neither of which are High/Full resolution. As well when you select an effect it's highlighted blue, & if you notice "Hi Res" is high;sighted blue. But that is a developers error for that saves to the low res of 360x480 & tap that "Hi Res" and it says "Remove" umm don't know why, seems odd & anything but user friendly UI. So when "Remove" is highlighted blue it saves to what the developers consider "Hi Res" which is 864x1157. NOT HIGH / FULL RES. Thus another app with potential that is now a gimmick app & barely useful & bordering useless! But for those that don't care it is FREE at the moment!

Attn: Developers fix poor UI, Fix highlighted & incorrectly worded save modes... and lastly FULL RESOLUTION SUPPORT!

Hi - Thanks for the feedback on the app! As always, feel free to e-mail suggestions like this directly to us. We are lucky to have found this comment.

Infinite Eye is extremely processor-intensive. We constantly need to make tradeoffs and find optimizations around effects application for real-time performance vs. higher resolution support.

We apologize for the UI not being intuitive enough around the photo editing mode.

The first click - puts a normal resolution (the video resolution, which matches the screen size) version of the photo in. You can apply effects here and see them applied quickly. The second click to "Hi Res" puts in a max 1 MB version of the photo. This is definitely scaled down from many full resolution photos. We made this tradeoff for performance reasons. Full resolution would be up to 4x slower for some effects to be applied.

Note: We did not indicate full-resolution support in our advertising materials, but perhaps some people are assuming that hi-res = full-res. Sorry for any confusion there.

Next version will give an option for full resolution, along with an advisory that it will not be "real-time" when in that mode - and best practice would be to apply effects in low-res view, then switch to hi-res to see the effects get re-applied to the hi-res version - and to be patient while it happens!

We will also try to improve the UI to make it clear which mode you are in.

Thank you for the feedback!

Forgot to mention - next version (mentioned above) is currently awaiting review; it should be available very soon.
