Hipstamatic and Wicker Park for all you hipstas

It's been a while since Hipstamatic received its last update, but if you check for updates right now, then you'll find Hipstamatic 225 waiting for you, along with a new paid for limited edition HipstaPak called Wicker Park.

In addition to Wicker Park, which includes , the Lucas AB2 lens, Jolly Rainbo 2X flash, and Damen camera case, Hipstamatic 225 also comes with a new MultiSlide Flash charger, allowing you to select between the hardware and software-only HipstaFlash (on iPhone 4), as well as bug fixes and improvements to the Hipstaccount system.

I just downloaded this and the pak was only $0.99.

The case is minimalist, but nice looking. Can't say much else until I get some time to play with it.

I have just looked at the new pack and can't say I'm that impressed - I think I'll give it a miss. Personally I think the whole Hipstamatic thing is becoming a bit tired now.

another lens that is quite useless and losts between the others..i would dig a double exposure switch, thing that is really common on all the analog toy cameras.

Really bad... probably the worst lens ever from synthetic corp.

its kinda running its course now, no real styles left to emulate.

i'd like to see something more along the lines of chemical looks, cross processed colours, random blurring effects, maybe some glow effects on highlights....

maybe ... god forbid.... some hdr ??

...<really? did i just say hdr??.... really?>

I agree as for the Multi-Exp feature req. Funny that was one of my first feedback requests back when 110 was out, testing their betas. I gave them full descriptive implementation of how to make it work best within their UI & be the simpliest & most creative for the users... But they aren't interested in what the users want. They do not listen unless it's their idea & those are usually their bad ideas. So I highly suggest just buying FusionCam & going from their for a good Multi-Exp app.

Man, a lot of Hipsta-Hatin' today.

I don't find the lens itself to be terribly interesting but the combination of the lens and the flash is pretty cool. Turning the flash on darkens the picture for me and brings back more true to life color. That was completely unexpected.

I have a 3GS. I wonder if this flash is tuned to work with the hardware flash.

@Greg I have the same experience with the flash on my 3GS. Using it results in a much *darker* photo, which is disappointing since I was expecting the opposite. :(

I actually thought there was a glitch with my new lens at first- anyone notice that their "sample pictures" for the Lucas lens has a vignette, but when you take a pic with it, it completely doesn't? I at least hope that isn't just MY phone, but the way it's supposed to be. (It actually looks like a washed-out version of the Tejas lens- one of the lenses I love.) To all the 3GS users, don't worry- I have an iPhone4 & the new flash darkens the pics, enriches them, & brings out the colors. Whoever above said they like the look of the new flash + the new lens while not really liking the new lens on it's own, I completely agree. (I agree with everyone else too, actually.) I'm interested in the new "flash", wondering what I'll be able to do with it, & maybe the new lens will end up being another lens that's good for lower light like the Jimmy. & maybe if we ALL write in the comments section & "Report a Problem" srction to Synthetic Corp under "Hipstamatic" app in the app store, they'll give us the blur effects, double exposures (different than the Dali lens) etc that we all want.

The new Wicker Park Flash *darkens* pics for me, not *lightens* them (which I'm sure is wrong). Is anyone else having this problem? It's realllly frustrating me. Any advice? I'm using an up to date iPhone4, so that can't be the problem. Thanks guys!

Ok, I figured it out (with a little help from the dudes over at Hipstamatic). The new flash is ONLY meant to be used with the hardware flash of the iPhone4 (LED flash). It enhances the flash so that you don't get the washed-out red-eye etc look of the flash when you use it with the iPhone4's regular camera. Sorry to all 3G & 3GS users (including both of my younger brothers): this flash is almost pointless for you. :( *However*, try using the new flash under very bright conditions- it should yield some interesting effects. I figured this out while trying to figure out the new flash. Happy shooting everybody (I hope)! :D
