Send your photos to Flickr with Flickit

Flickit, which is currently available in the App Store for FREE, is a simple and easy to use app to use for uploading your photos directly from your iPhone or iPod Touch to Flickr, and is the perfect companion app for submitting your entries to the iPhoneography blog's monthly "Through the Lens of an iPhone" photo challenge.

To use Flickit, simply install and authorise the app with your Flickr account (if you don't have a Flickr account, then you will need to sign up here), and then you can begin uploading.

To upload, simply take or load a photo from your iPhone/iPod photo library, then having loaded a photo, tap the photo to add details like title and description, add tags, define any sets, and finally and importantly, specify the group/groups you want to add the photo/photos too.

When you have finished setting all the parameters, tap done, and you are taken back to the apps main interface, where taping "Upload", begins the upload process, and that's all there is to it.

App Store Link: Flickit; Price: FREE

Editors Comments: Whilst there are other apps available for uploading to Flickr, Flickit is currently FREE, easy to use, retains EXIF data, and is perfect for uploading to the "Through the Lens of an iPhone" monthly photo challenge Flickr group.

Okay, this may be a very stupid question but it's really important to me. So here goes...

~If you don't have 'unlimited messaging' or 'texting' on your iPhone (cause you really just don't need it) will it cost to upload these from this account??~

I know it's not a "iphoneography" question in general but it will help me A LOT! I've just started with your blog & I must say that I like it very much!!

Thank you!

@StormyGirl,
I don't know if i'm understanding right at your question but if you want to upload pictures from your iphone to flickr with Flickit app, you will only need internet, there is nothing to do with texting.
Hope it helps you.

@StormyGirl - Sorry, can't help... I've used Flickit for 2 or 3 years now, but I've always had some data or SMS allowance, so I don't know if it "costs" or not. To my (not very scientific!) mind, /anything/ you do outside a phone call uses at least some data. However, it should be very, very little. Can you maybe get a data bolt-on (or whatever it's called?)

Flickit just works (and always has). As you see above for the Sets/Tags/Groups categories, it shows you what you've already got set up in Flicker so you can select the appropriate ones. Great little app.

@nui and @mark; THANK YOU both for answering me!! I guess I'll just try it and find out. I know that when I uploaded a pic or vid this past winter when it was snowing to put on my facebook page from my iPhone directly I was charged for it so that was the reason I was asking.

Again thanks for the reply!!

I believe that I found that in order for Flickit to work correctly, you must have its location services turned on...

Nice app but I can't see any advantage in using it over the official Flickr app which is also easy to use and free.
