Exclusive Preview: Perfectly Clear v3, with Purple Haze Fix

As a leading blogger (and not just someone who copies and pastes App Store descriptions) and respected member of the iPhoneography community, I very often get asked by developers and hardware companies to take a look at their apps or products prior to release, and Athentech Imaging, the people behind top app Perfectly Clear, is just one of the companies that involves me in their app development process. As a result, I've been fortunate enough to have been given exclusive access to Perfectly Clear version 3, which subject to Apple's approval process, should be appearing in the App Store, any day soon.

Perfectly Clear v3: Athentech Imaging have completely re-written Perfectly Clear, and so if you're an existing user, then you are in for a pleasant surprise, when version 3 hits the App Store. Whilst the fundamentals are still the same, with the app still using Athentech's industry standard algorithms to automatically correct and improve your iPhone photos, the UI (user interface) has been completely updated, being optimised for both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, and offering improved handling.

In addition to all the features existing users are familiar with, this new (yet to be released) version includes features not previously seen in Perfectly Clear, and as the sample images below show, includes a very impressive fix for the iPhone 5's purple haze issue.

Above: Photo 1 is the uncorrected test image that shows the purple haze issue that can affect some iPhone 5 photos. Image 2 is the same image corrected with Camera Fix (see previous post), whist this final image, has been corrected with Perfectly Clear v3 using the apps de-purple mode.

If you like the look of Perfectly Clear v3, then look out for my full review, which I will post as soon as the apps becomes publicly available in the App Store.

It looks like Camera Fix did a pretty good job of removing the purple halo at the top of the photo while Perfectly Clear v3 went a step further and removed the overall purple tint of the photo. However, I wonder what happens to genuinely purple objects in a photo? Will Perfectly Clear v3 "de-purple" those colors, too?

I am also interested as @Helder in purple objects in a shot. perhabs this purplehaze reduction thing is an additional option!?
Is this a free update for owners of the app?

I'm unclear if this update has been released in the US yet. I just re-installed Perfectly Clear and I'm not seeing de-purple mode.
