App Alert: Nofinder is FREE until February 14

Above: This photo was taken using Nofinder whilst in the London underground last year. The lack of viewfinder made the shot both difficult and unpredictable, but I was able to take the photo without anyone around me being aware of what I was doing, making this app perfect for street photography.Do you fancy trying your hand at street photography with your iPhone, but feel too self conscious? or want to take photos blind? then check out Nofinder, by Toshihiko Tambo.

Inspired by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama, Nofinder is Toshihiko's take on Daido Moriyama's "no finder" [shoot from the hip] snapshot style of photography, that the photographer developed as he wandered the streets of Tokyo in the late 1960s and early '70s.

This toy camera app that has up to 10* different film looks, 4* different lens effects, but interestingly no viewfinder is available from the App Store for FREE until February 14th, so if you fancy shooting in a completely different way, then why not give this app a go, who knows, you might just surprise yourself.

App Store Link: Nofinder; Sales Price: FREE

*Note: to get all the film and lens effects, you will need to upgrade the app via an in-app purchase, however the inclusive free lens and film effects should be sufficient for most people.

This app has been a lifesaver for me, especially on crowded public transport where i can be sneaky and no-one will suspect a thing. It has a nice big shutter button too so you dont have to be looking at the screen to take pics. Ive had it for a couple of weeks and it has become my definitive street photography app for taking pictures.

So wait, normally it's not free and you still have to do an in app purchase to get all the stuff. Not such a great deal. There are a lot of negative reviews in the app store for this app. A few that didn't get the concept but lots that talked about crashing and no response from company. It's either all free for a limited time or it's not. I don't trust companies that do their marketing this way. Make it all free for a limited time and let the great responses drive more business.
