CinePro, a new video app that may rival FiLMiC Pro

CinePro is a new videography app from John Clem that looks like it's about to try and challenge the current number 1 video camera app FiLMiC Pro. Optimised for the iPhone 4/4S, but compatible with any iDevice running iOS 5, CinePro which is currently priced at just £0.69/$0.99/€0.79, offers live, real-time video filter effects, the ability to shoot with the rear or front facing cameras, as well as letting you swap virtual lenses and see a pixel-accurate 35mm equivalent focal length.

In addition to the above, CinePro also features:

  • Manual control of ISO, focal length, aspect ratio and frame rate
  • 5 great looking filters (additional packs of filters including color gradients, tilt shift and edge detection, available via an optional in-app purchase for £0.69/$0.99/€0.79 each)
  • Share directly to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

Best part of FilmMic Pro is the audio levels and the new and improved white balance

If it starts faster than FiLMiC Pro it will be successful.

CinePro is very good and it will certainly give FiLMiC Pro a run for its money .But it's not perfect and still needs an update or two to squash bugs and introduce some needed features (like audio level indicator, to name one). I love the fact you can adjust the focal length.

It's a nice app but there's a bitrate bug thats been confirmed and should be fixed by the next update. The CinePro app shoots really low bitrate (4-5mbps) compared to the stock camera app or FilmicPro (default is 25mbps). So we're talking a big difference in the overall quality! I'm pretty shocked a lot of people don't even notice it, that's the first thing I noticed after shooting a few videos with this app.

Hi.

Id' like to know why ur preferring the Filmmic Pro over the AlmostDSLR?
I'm not using the FilmMic Pro that often (compared to the AlmostDSLR which I use professional at my job as a mobile producer/journalist) but i can't see any major difference.
