Vint B&W, the original Black & White camera app gets an update

If you have been taking photos with an iPhone for as long as I have, then you may be familiar with Vint B&W, the very first black and white camera replacement app for the iPhone, that arrived way back in November 2008 (the same month/year that this blog started). At the time, this app offered some of the best tonal qualities of any black and white app available for the iPhone, however it only allowed you to take, and not import photos from the camera roll. Well, after 4 years, developer Erik Pettersson has finally updated Vint B&W with an iPhone 5 enhanced UI, live B&W preview, full resolution, and most importantly, the ability to import and convert photos from the camera roll.

Vint B&W MII is currently available from the App Store priced at £1.49/$1.99/€1.59, or free for existing owners of Vint B&W.

I have about a million apps that can make black and white photos, but this little app is the only one that makes black and white photos look like they are something special. I'm not sure exactly what it does or how it does it, but pictures taken with this app look amazing.
