Percolator 2.3 is coming real soon

It's been a while, but hopefully this week should see Percolator 2.3 hit the App Store. Already submitted by Tinrocket developer John Balestrieri, this is what we can expect to see, in what looks to be a major update.

Percolating

  • A new Brew: Percolator boldly enters the 1960s with “Tripstamatic!”
  • A new Brew: Percolator gets wobbly with “Charmed” circles!
  • A new Serve Tone: “Flash Burn”—A high contrast vignette
  • Even smaller circles with the new Tiny Circles Grind Effect
  • A new Grind Effect: “Woodblock”—Converts your photo to 4 colors before Percolating for a very bold look!

Export & Import

  • Example images make great starting points for your own percs!
  • Maximum ‘Save To Photos’ size is now 3584 pixels! (Maximum export size for iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, and iPad 1 is 2048 pixels.)
  • Customizable image export settings
  • Send to Instagram with the option to Crop
  • Send to a Postcard with Sincerely!
  • Send your Percs to other photo apps or Copy to the Clipboard
  • Import via Paste and from other photo app’s sharing features

General

  • Support for the 4 inch Retina display
  • Retina support for iPad 3
  • New UI for the Import and Export menus—In addition to the sleek new look, I now have plenty of room to keep adding features.
  • Many tiny improvements that you may not notice, but make Percolator even more awesome.

The Pocket Spotlight from Photojojo, a bright, constant light in the palm of your hand

As we all know, the iPhone flash does not produce very flattering or pleasing results, so continuos LED lights like this one from Photojojo or the KLYP from Manfrotto are worth considering is you want to be able to use and control an artificial light source.

The Pocket Spotlight from Photojojo gives you soft, portable and even light, mounts onto any headphone jack or hot-shoe, requires no batteries, as it charges via USB, will shine for an hour on a full charge, and measures just 2.5" x 1.5 inches.

This constant light source can even be used with Photojojo's Colour Filter pack, to give you even more lighting options.

Starmatic updated with high resolution support, and much more

This update has been a longtime coming, but finally Starmatic supports the much requested high resolution saves, along with other requested account management features.

So what's new in this update of Starmatic?

  • HIGH-RESOLUTION: Pictures edited with Starmatic are now saved on your camera roll in High Resolution by default (2448 x 2448). Your filtered pictures will be more awesome than ever and are now suitable for high-quality printing.
  • FIND TWITTER AND FACEBOOK FRIENDS: You can now easily find and follow your Facebook and Twitter friends who are already Starmatic users and who registered with Facebook or Twitter.
  • MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT: Change your username or modify your account.
  • BLOCK FOLLOWERS: You can now block undesired followers.
  • DELETE COMMENTS: You can delete inappropriate or undesired comments under your pictures. Just swipe on the comments you wish to erase.
  • CUSTOMISE WHAT YOU SHARE ON FACEBOOK: Starmatic now takes full advantage of tighter Facebook integration with iOS 6 by enabling you to customise the text accompanying the pictures you share on your Facebook timeline (Note: you need to have enabled access to Facebook via your iPhone Settings to use this feature).

There are also many stabilisation and speed improvements and loads of bugs fixed, which include:

  • Launching Starmatic is much faster
  • The app no longer freezes in the Nearby section
  • Issues in finding people to follow from your contact list should no longer occur
  • Your filtered pictures will now keep their geotags
  • You can customise your username when you register with Facebook
