App Alert: CameraBag, CameraBag for iPad and Infinicam are all FREE today

Three classic iOS apps from Nevercenter, CameraBag [App Store Link], CameraBag for iPad [App Store Link] and Infinicam [App Store Link] are all available for FREE today, so if you don't already have these apps, then grab them whilst you can.

CameraBag focuses on emulating styles and processes from some of the most interesting cameras of the past to enhance the mood of an image, and the results are stunning, whilst Infinicam applies high quality effects to photos, but instead of having a set number of pre-defined camera styles (as CameraBag does), Infinicam offers an endless variety in a fun, stylish interface.

App Update: CameraBag

CameraBag, one of the granddaddy apps of iPhoneography has just received an update, bringing background processing, a new filter called "Italiano", and the "Reprocess" functionality found in the iPad version.

To "Reprocess", you double-tap on a filtered image to reveal an alternate version of that filtered effect, and just as you can with the iPad version, repeated taps will reveal yet more alternatives. Of all the filter options found in CameraBag, the Silver effect offers the most noticeable "Reprocess" effect.

App Update: CameraBag for iPad & CameraBag

After a long wait, CameraBag for iPad and CameraBag for the iPhone from developers Nevercenter have finally been update, although the updates may disappoint some (like me).

So What's new?

CameraBag for iPad is now iOS 4.2 ready and has had the "Plastic" filter effect added, whilst CameraBag for the iPhone now supports the retina display, and now (just like the iPad), has the ability to vary each filter effect by double tapping the screen.

Whilst both updates are welcomed, I can't help feel that the iPhone version is bit of a let down.  Whilst it's nice to see one of the iPad features find its way in to this update, I am disappointed that other features like being able to apply different crops and borders have been left out.

Despite this, it's nice to see that Nevercenter have not completely given up on this old app, and we can only hope that future updates will bring more features to both versions.

4 Notable iPad Photo Apps

With the iPad just hours away from being in the hands of many of our US readers of this blog, there are 4 iPad photo apps that I think are worth checking out.

The first app is Filterstorm from developer Tai Shimizu, which for a limited time will be FREE.

Tip: For all us who do not live in the US and have to wait for our iPads, download this app now, ready for when you have your iPad.

The second app is CameraBag for iPad, which is ideal for giving your non iPhone photos that same CameraBag look as you may be familiar with on your iPhone.

Third is TiltShift Generator for iPad from developer Takayuki Fukatsu, and just like CameraBag allows you to give that lens baby look to your non iPhone photos.

And last but not least is Photogene for iPad, which just like Filterstorm could do for the iPad what Photoshop has done for the PC (well at least until Adobe releases a true Photoshop app for the iPad).
