Instagramers London present: Iconic London 2012 a unique retrospective of London during 2012

Iconic London 2012 Exhibition is showcasing the works of 30 leading London Instagramers plus a special display of the finalists and winners of Instagramers London year-long Iconic London 12.12.12 contest. All the contest images will be available for sale and the proceeds will go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Where: Shop 14, 15 Hanbury Street, The Old Truman Brewery, London.
When: Wednesday 12th-16th  December 2012 6-9pm.
Price: admission is free.

The above photos were taken during the opening of London's first Instagram gallery exhibition being held at The East Gallery, 214 Brick Lane, London E1 6SA. "My World Shared", which ends today, contains an excellent range of photos taken with an iPhone and uploaded to Instagram, by members [who include chef Jamie Oliver] of the London Instagramers group.

The event which has been organised by @mis_jess, @chelseadebs, and with the assistance of @davechapman, @mahadewa and @dutchie68 is well presented and in great location, with plenty of vibe and atmosphere, so if you haven't been yet, then if your in London today, then why not hope on a tube or bus and head to Brick Lane, you won't be disappointed.

Don't forget, "My World Shared" opens this weekend

This is a reminder that this weekend sees the London Instagramers first exhibition take place at The East Gallery, 214 Brick Lane, London E1 6SA.

The gallery will be open to the public this coming Saturday and Sunday, with photos on show from 30 members of the 120 strong Instagramers group.

My World Shared, photo contest

To coincide with, and to promote the gallery exhibition "My World Shared", the London Instagramers group have just announced their first Instagram photo contest.

Of the contest, the London Instagramers group said, "we love using Instagram to share our world. Share yours with us! We’re looking for something creative and original, that tells a story, that gives us an insight into your life."

Instagramers London, present, "My World Shared"

"My World Shared is the first exhibition by Instagramers London. Instagramers London are a group of individuals from London and beyond with a shared passion for iPhoneography, and more specifically a free iPhone app called Instagram.

The idea of the exhibition came out of an Instameet held in the Brick Lane area, a busy vibrant part of London. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the iPhone created works come to life in a gallery space? So Instagramers London first Instagram exhibition is born.

My World Shared captures the concept of Instagram – to record in images our world around us, our lives, our outlook, our views, and share that view with the rest of the world. It is an individual view, but one that others can relate to, like postcards from a friend."
