New iPhone Photo App: SpyPic

Move over, Jack Bauer – there’s a new spy in town.

Description from the AppStore: Use Spy Pic to take pictures on the sly.

Who needs a brooding butler or a wacky scientist to deliver up the latest in covert technologies when you could have Spy Pic? Spy Pic is the answer to all your surreptitious activities. Well, the ones that involve a camera at least.

Have you ever wanted to go unnoticed while photographing a lopsided bouffant at the mall, or sneak a peek at a nose picker behind you on the metro?

Spy Pic -- for the moments you can’t be obvious.

Features:

  • Take pictures discretely—of anything—while appearing to operate your phone normally with the help of an “alibi activity”
  • Tap anywhere on the screen to take the picture
  • Shake your phone to change the camera from front to back*
  • Swipe left or right to change your “alibi activity” to avoid detection.
  • Swipe up or down to adjust the transparency of your “alibi activity” to reveal what the camera sees. This will enable you to lightly see what you are taking a photo of with out compromising the mission completely.
  • Photos automatically saved to your phone’s photo album
  • Email photos directly from app

AppStore Link: SpyPic - Price: £1.19/$1.99/€1.59

Coming soon: IncrediBooth, a Photo Booth in your Pocket

From the developers that brought you Hipstamatic and SwankoLab, comes IncrediBooth, which is exclusive to the iPhone 4

Step up, sit down, and get ready to cram as many of your friends together as possible. The photo booth has returned, and it's incredible. No coins needed, no hunting down old dirty dive bars, and no longer limited to a single backdrop! Be the life of any party and bring your IncrediBooth with you.

Take photo strips with three different lens/film combos

  • Grab onto the slider dial and turn it to you desired setting. Choose from a Helga Lens with Supergrain B&W film, the classic John S lens with SuperContrast film, or a custom Kaimal lens with Infrared film.

Bring happiness to any event, party, or lonely evening

  • Grab a group of friends and squeeze together, or just shoot yourself to show off how awesome you are. Set the scene, line yourself up with the built-in mirror, and fire away!

Share with Facebook or email

  • Send the whole strip or just one or two of your favorite poses directly to Facebook or email. Plus IncrediBooth fully supports the new multi-tasking in iPhone 4, so you can leave the app and do something else while your upload is progressing.

iOS 4 compatible, but not iPhone 4 ready

By the end of Thursday many of you will have a nice new shinny iPhone 4 in your hands, and whilst this new iPhone will sport what will undoubtedly be a great 5 megapixel camera, be prepared to be disappointed.  Not because of anything to do with this new marvel from Apple, but because of the lack of photo apps that will support its new 5 megapixel camera.

Now whilst we have seen a flurry of photo apps all being updated to support iOS 4, none as far as I am aware support the new camera, so whilst many apps are iOS 4 compatible, none of them are iPhone 4 ready.

Unfortunately I will not be getting my hands on an iPhone 4 until the second week in July, so for those who do get one, please be sure to come back and discuss your thoughts here, letting the rest of us know exactly what you think of it, and what we are missing.
