iPod Touch with camera surfaces again

We've been here before, but images have surfaced yet again of what may be Apples next generation iPod Touch with built-in camera.

AppleInsider are reporting that Vietnamese website Tinhte has revealed what they are saying will be the next generation iPod Touch.

What is unclear, is whether this is another one of the 2009 prototypes that we have seen before, or the real deal.  What I think we can be sure of, is that it will only be a matter of time before the Touch gets a camera, and if it is the same 3.2 megapixel camera found in Apple's iPhone 3GS, then, this will open up the joys of iPhoneography to a much wider audience.

Could this be the proof of an iPod Touch Camera?

As Apple's expected annual September iPod event gets ever closer, so more photos have surfaced that gives credence to the pending announcement of the next generation iPod Touch with built in camera.

Could iPods be getting cameras?

AppleInsider are reporting on rumours that are doing the rounds on the net, "that when Apple refreshes its iPod touch and iPod nano players later this September, both will feature a camera like the iPhone."

As with AppleInsider, I can see the logic behind Apple adding a camera to the Touch, and 100% agree with them when they say "it would nearly double the market for camera-related applications on the App Store set to explode following the release of next-generation iPhones, which will include video recording capabilities as one of their biggest features."

Although it is also being suggested (by some websites) that the Nano could also get a camera, I think this is unlikely, as it wouldn't add any value to the Nano, and as any iPhoneographer will tell you, it is the apps that make the iPhone's camera stand out from all other camera phones out there. So unless the Nano has some built-in apps to view and manipulate, as well as a method of sharing the photos it takes quickly and easily, then I can't see this happening, but then again I could be wrong, but what do you think?

Of course only time will tell if these rumours have any substance to them, but with WWDC just around the corner, who knows, we might just see an iPod Touch with 3.2 megapixel camera announced!!
