Featured iPhoneographer: Kim Holloway

Above: Sunshine Buddies © Kim HollowayThe photographer is a careful study of her environment, a watcher, looking closely and intentionally. “I will stand and watch the ocean for ages, trying to understand the pattern of the waves so I can anticipate when to get the best photo,” says Kim Holloway, an Australian iphoneographer whose photographs reveal her observations of the natural world, well, naturally, with as she explains little post-capture apping. “I like to capture what I see, as I see it.”

Featured iPhoneographer: Laura Peischl

Images capture and convey expressions of feeling for Laura Peischl, the fleeting moments  that reveal insights about someone’s personality or the artist’s observations, and the emotions that connect the two. Laura practices her iphoneography as a means to express feelings without words and to engage with others in wide community.

Tell us about yourself, Laura:

My name is Laura Peischl, and I am from Vienna, Austria. I have been living in Malta for 7 years together with my family. I studied German Studies and Psychology at the University of Vienna. I have a public relations and marketing company, but most of all, I enjoy capturing moments of everyday life with my iPhone. Recently I have been asked to teach iPhoneography courses. I am really looking forward to  sharing this passion with my students.

On Sale: PictureShow, TrueHDR, ScratchCam and ClearCam

This weekend sees 4 very impressive apps go on sale in the App Store, priced at just £0.59/$0.99/€0.79.

First up is the impressive PictureShow [App Store Link], which offers almost endless edits, and of which I recently said "If you buy only one photo editing app for your iPhone, make sure it's PictureShow".

Next up we have TrueHDR [App Store Link], which offers and alternative HDR solution to that of Apples own built in HDR offering.

Then we have the new, yet to be reviewed, ScratchCam [App Store Link], which promises to make your photos look like someone in the photo lab has just dropped your negatives on the floor and walked all over them, and done a pretty good job of trashing them [I know, because I've done it].

And finally, ClearCam [App Store Link], a must have app for all iPod Touch 4G users, that want to get more than 1 megapixel images out of their camera.
